FYI for the guy/gal asking:
About the 18-135mm lensI've owned the 18-55mm, 55-200mm and 18-135mm. The 18-135mm is the WORSE kit lens Nikon ever made. DO NOT GET IT!
The 18-135mm distorts images, messes up colour and is really expensive for such a piece of sh--.
First get the 50mm f1.8 (used, ebay - US100.00). It's cheap, great, sharp, perfect colour. Most importantly, it will teach you about getting into the right spot and finding the right angles. No zoom tho

. depends on your perspective.
Then you can add on a lot of stuff cheaply. EG: telelconvertor, for more distance; reversible mount and the lens becomes a macro lens; fisheye adaptor etc.
Benefit 2: the threading is 52mm. So filters are easier and cheaper to get, in stark contrast to the 67mm filters for the 18-135mm.
Since this is a "post your shots" thread.. here...

Shot with a Canon PowerShot A590 IS, f4, 1/200sec, ISO-80.
This cam cost less than any of my SLR lenses, performs perfectly, does video and fits in my pocket!
