Pioneer 880 PRS from MBC Autotronix. $2500
T3 Audio T400 10" subwoofer from Fuzz $650
OR
ED 11ov.2 from Fen $500
JBL P660C from Fen $1495

There are other options for front components and sub, but the head unit from MBC is a no brainer.

but sq is a new playing field 4 me
also its even more hard to build a sq system on a budget where money is a factor

Forget the rear speakers.... get a good set of comps for the front. Check SR for some DLS comps that should be affordable and award wining too...

As silent riot said, that HU is a great deal, BUT it most likely will take you over your budget.

You should not get rear speakers for obvious reasons. The front is where you want to focus your efforts.

So here goes....

Bridging the 4 channel you got to play your Hybrid Imagine 6.5 comps, run passively.

You can PM raveaudio for those.

Sub duties can be handled by an Elemental designs 13Kv.2 for $350 and get an enclosure at 25% off regular price as well from DE AUDIO. He also has Dynamat on sale.

Fuzz has an Alpine 9886 for 1600.

That'll be a solid performing system imo.

I think you are severely undervaluing the price for installation labour. Especially if your install will require any level of custom fabrication.

I agree with nigel1977
I think you are severely undervaluing the price for installation labour. Especially if your install will require any level of custom fabrication.

This is just an example of what you can get on a budget that can perform well in competition, it is by no means me being biased to the brands mentioned.

Headunit: Like silent_riot said Pioneer 880 PRS from MBC Autotronix. $2500 (Really, really good!)
If you want another option KDC-X995 - $2,600.00 (I believe, in Tripple R) http://www.kenwoodusa.com/Car_Entertainment/eXcelon/1-Din_CD_Receivers/KDC-X995
Frontstage: DLS RS6N / DLS RM6.2 (RS6N below $2,000.00 and RM6.2 around $2,000.00 I believe.) http://www.dls.se/en/car/prod.html?produkt=en_844http://www.dls.se/en/car/prod.html?produkt=en_779
Rearfill: DLS 126 / DLS 226 (226 around $500.00 and 126 less)http://www.dls.se/en/car/prod.html?produkt=en_86http://www.dls.se/en/car/prod.html?produkt=en_84
Subwoofer: DLS RW10i (Below $1,500.00 I believe) http://www.dls.se/en/car/prod.html?produkt=en_807

As you can see, these are moderately priced equipment, but it passes your budget, without even including damping and labour.
If it were up to me I would forget rearfill. The RS6N components are biampable, and you can bridge the amp to power the RM6.2 if you use them.
Again, this is just an example of a system you can get on a budget. Oh, check out this where SR used the RS6N components in competition in PRO class and placed first. http://www.trinituner.com/v3/forums/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=387964

Realistically, 4500 wont be enough....been there, tried that and it didnt work out well....wasted money in tryin shortcuts

My thoughts are
get the pioneer prs deck, even though its 2500.00
its kinda worth it in the long run....thats a good platform for the future and
u most likely wont have to upgrade that for a few yrs
It has good processing, nice eq etc...

alternative to that is the recent Alpine 9887 or older sq alpine decks
which might be between 1500-2000

Speakers
There are so many out there....dont bother to look for something high end if you cant afford it
The speakers can be easily replaced later on and as cash is available to you
You can even hunt for a used set
Create a WTB post in the classifies and see what turns up there....

Subwoofer
Fuzz has good results with the T3 Audio subs and its not that costly
Fen has a good sale on Elemental Design an CDT subs you could look into those as well

Have u ever "hook up" stuff before?
do the basics if you can....mount amps, run RCA's, power wire, speaker wires etc
try to do as much as you can that way you learn as u go along even though you may get it wrong at first
building the sub enclosure isnt hard, if u wanna go sealed which is the easiest and a DIY job
you would save a couple 100$

There is a wealth of information here that is very helpful in ur build..just do searches for appropriate topics
you can also post questions etc and im sure someone here will answer as best as they can...

The year is almost over so dont rush into it....(another mistake i made)
take ur time and you can use the rest of this yr to build for next yr....Using the remainder of this yr to attend events/trainning, getting demos of other sq cars so you can hav an idea whats needed

If you intend on entering the rookie class I would strongly suggest that you read the rule book before starting the design of your system. There are limitations on the level of installation that can be done in order for you to stay in the rookie class.

I would also suggest that you attempt to do as much of the labour for yourself as you can so as to reduce the labour cost. Additionally you should account for wiring as proper wiring can set you back at least $700 when done properly.
