Story Updated: Jul 20, 2011 at 11:43 PM ECT

FAMILIES of teenagers Aisha Ali and Sureka Lalloo, who were missing for four days, yesterday were happy to have them returned home safely.

Ali's brother, Ferad, said Ali was "resting".

He said both teens "gave reports concerning what happened" to the police.

He added that both girls were examined by doctors at a medical institution and were in good health, except that Ali was dehydrated.

Lalloo's mother, Geeta, said she was "fine".

Relatives said the girls left home because one was "frustrated and needed support" and slept in a shed at Carenage.

Best friends Ali, 17, and Lalloo, 18, both attend ASJA Girls' College, San Fernando, and recently wrote the Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate examinations.

The girls went missing on Friday after a visit to Gulf City Mall, La Romaine, and they were found by police officers on mobile patrol on Tuesday afternoon at The Falls at Westmall, Westmoorings.

Ali, of Princes Town, was dropped off at Gulf City by her parents, who then went grocery shopping.

When they returned around 5 p.m. to pick her up, they did not find her.

Instead, they saw Lalloo's mother and twin sister accompanied by two police officers walking through the mall, looking for Lalloo.

Lalloo disappeared from her home at Claxton Bay after she told her mother she was going to have a bath.

When she went missing, her mother made enquiries in the area and discovered she had asked a taxi-driver for directions to travel to Gulf City.

While the statements some of you made are many a times the case, never underestimate what happens in the home. You are all outsiders looking in, never know if mom's new boyfriend is a drunkard rapist, dad is a junkie etc, i mean the list can go on and on.

i'm quite sure most adolescent teens go through this phase :?

of course dey go want ah man, and if allyuh fellahs never wanted to ress some pipe on yuh female fren dem when yuh was 15/16 well i dunno wa tuh say bout allyuh nah

but how come ALL teenage girls don't run away ? I always wonder what type of parenting or home one comes from to consider running away with basically a stranger.
