Her name is actually Amy, not Karmin, and the guy's name is Nick. They've been on Ellen as someone else said and they performed live with the roots too. They _do_ have original songs, loads of them actually and they're both music students, the rap thing is something she said she used to do in the shower and Nick always told her to record it because he found she was good at it, millions of youtube views later and she believes him now. They have all of their original stuff on an entirely separate youtube channel, you can search karmin-carbon copy for one of their original songs.
