from discussion long ago when the whole octane thing was trashed out, i remember...

the "points" that off-the-shelf octane boosters add are actual 0.1, 0.2 ... etc. It's not 1.0, 2.0. so if they say "add 5 points", you dont go from 91 to 96.

dont hold me to this though. but check this video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2jbcCr2ll3c

as for the claims made by fuel injector cleaners, check last month's edition of import tuner. they have a full breakdown of how bogus those claims are.

save your money. for real additives, throw in some C-12/16 ... or as a partner used to do - toluene (highly toxic and carcinogenic)

cheapest, safest bet is to retune for lower octane and dont weep at the power loss.. cause u'll be saving your engine. which is a lot more heartbreaking to lose.

100RON is factory recommended... car has high compression and can still get buy with our sludge that passes for 95RON... although you will still 'lose power' as compared to running on a proper octane gas, local Premium is head and shoulders better than Super when it comes to anything close to a high performance engine.

IF you put super in an ITR, just bite the bullet, sell it and buy a sohc non vtec civic.

only way this will work is if the engine not knockin with $H1t gas

otherwise boom will still happen and u will have to save cash for other engine
