WTK: Looking to do an install in a VIgo...Ideas???

Postby pornstar1 » March 23rd, 2011, 8:50 am

As the topic states, I'm planning to do an install in my Vigo.

Just looking for some ideas from anyone who has done it, seen it, heard it before.

I've had ppl tell me go with shallow mount subs, use 10's, use 8's etc...

Lemme know what u think or have done or witnessed.

Pics would be a great help also.

4 6.5" in the pockets under the seats and retain full functionality of seats. Requires cutting. etc etc

Anything behind the seat will affect its movement.

Doors can take up to a 7" without mods.

What do you want to know about the VIgo?

BTW its an 80A alternator, with almost no room for extra elec equipment.

3 ID8s behind the seat with an Image Dynamics Q1200.1 behind the trio, Image Dynamics Q450.4 powering a pair of XS65 components and a pair of CTX components in the back doors. ABSOLUTELY NO CUTTING REQUIRED, and seat folds enough to get to the jack and all tools under the rear seat. Also there is room for processing under the seat in the cubby holes as well. This setup has been tried and tested and in quite a few vans locally, demo could probably be arranged.

yeah best place to go if you looking for pretty awesome sound and having to make no modifications to your van is behind the seat. the RE 8s work damn near awesome and for the price one cannot complain, but from experience the Image 8s play alot more accurate and drop lowwwwwwww or hit really hard, depends on what you want.

Hey I ran 2 rf shallow mount tens in a box at the back of the rear backrest. It was powered by soundstream, with 18sounds on the doors.it was clean, LOW bass, and affects nothing with respect to space, (since the back seat does not recline anyway). Check Loudsound for the box. He has a perfect mould. He is on this forum.

I wonder if two Type R 10s can fit behind the seat?

The backrest wouldn't fit original. The type r's are too deep.

Seeing that this was done in a hilux, I suppose it could be done in a vigo as well. I'm not sure, so correct me if i'm wrong, but i guess the space behind the seat should b the same or close.

^^^^wow that looks great... Doesn't look like the backrest can fit without a little conversion though, but great work nevertheless (at least from the pics). And yes, the hilux and Vigo is the same wrt space at the back. I had both. The flat subs helps with the space as well.
