possible to purchase this joint??

hey folks wanted to know if it is possible to purchase the second c.v joint found on the axle at the bottom (the one in the middle of the axle) and what would i ask for when buying it??

That's not a CV joint. If you remove the boot, it separates similar to the green one in the top axle correct?

Bought one for a Mazda at a FU place some time back and the guys called it a Tripod. Dunno if that's the correct name but all the FU places seemed to know what it was when i asked for the Tripod.

WRONG!!!!!

this is what it looks like (took this from a used axle just like the one i got on my car. if it was a tripod i wont have come and ask this here. doing some research and it seems to be called a cage joint

Maybe next time you should say "I know its not the tripod" and save us all the trouble.

Also, did you notice you didn't state what car this was from. Should we all know what "my car" is?

i'm sorry, if it was in the nissan forum ppl there would have known, its axles used on sr20 gear boxes

i have one. cup,bearing and the piece that goes onto the tranny. NO cage and axel that goes into the spindle!!!

well mine is automatic,so i don't know if it will work for ur box!

if am not mistaken that is from an sr20, the toyotas use tripod inner cups, this uses the ball and cage with a retainer lock. jus ask for an inner cup of a two piece axle for watever application. as you can see you could remove the bracket with the 3 bolts and it will show a long shaft with the cup at the end
