Rumors flying around Carlos Slim in negotiations with government to buy 51% shares in TSTT.

Would this be a good thing?

actually nope

carlos however jsut did a deal with digicel,

dennis sold el salvador and honduras operations to carlos and carlos sold his jamacia operations to dennis.

digicel however retianed the only CA footprint they have.... which is Panama

carlos made his fortune with the largest telecom company in mehico, i dont know if he is still the richest in the world but he has been in and out of the post a couple of times, i would be glad to see tstt get a proper structure and get its affairs in order, bcuz, bsides bmobile celllular service, cant see anybody paying for any of tstt other services

Carlos Slim has been trying to buy TSTT for years now.
It won't happen, TSTT is a cash COW and the control the gov has over telecoms is something very stupid to give up.

Beside, slim and obrian stop competing and decide to share up some 'monopolies' across central america. I doubt he'd want to come to trini to aggravate digi.
