Tuners beware!!!

Postby Sivic Distributors » February 16th, 2011, 2:16 pm

Guys and Gals, just a heads up.....

I work in the legal profession and on Monday while attending to a matter at the Port-of-Spain magistrates court i observed over 10 people waiting in the court charged with driving/being in possession of a stolen vehicle.... All of whom were victims of individuals renting out cars that were stolen.....

So i urge you all to exercise extreme caution when renting vehicles....maybe it would wise to rent instead from reputable rental agencies...yes the price might be higher by a couple dollars but i'm sure you would rather spend that than spend a couple nights in a cell.....

I also heard from another colleague that the situation was the same at the San Fernando magistrates court......

I understand the confusion. Some fueners are also considered rentals.

the opposite.

which couple will faster be targeted?
the couple parked outside movietowne in a R almera, or the couple outside Movietowne in a P almera.

Insurance companies, do allow policies on P cars for rental.

Insurance companies, do allow policies on P cars for rental.

but is it legal ? if so why the need for R plates then ?
but if I got hold with a stolen R plate car I can go home and sleep with the option to sue somebody but with a P plate I have to take all the jamming :(

How many "R" rentals do you see anymore? Insurance companies do in fact insure "P" cars as rentals, you can get it through a broker the premiums are higher though

Your best bet is to rent from an established registered company with a written contract, it costs a lot more and the security deposits are much higher but if you want that peace of mind it's the way to go

Furness, Econo, Khalloo's, Hertz even Auto rentals all rent P cars
