that sort of thinking is exactly what you expect from someone that can't see "outside of the box" in this case can't see past a brand name. i strongly believe that if this car had a raging bull or a prancing horse logo on it rather than "L" or "F" nobody would have said anything about its price. and the fact is, that is the only real grievance anyone has with the car. its price. Everything else gets top marks
consider this, the carbon lambo (Sesto Elemento?) has almost the same numbers, same construction material etc but you don't even get proper seats and yet is costs more than a the LFA which, in addition to power, has everything you'd expect from a luxury car (eg seat belts that actually double as airbags) plus a whole lot more leading edge tech (latest reports put the lambo @ 2.15million pounds sterling)

why no comments on that?
oh right.. its a lambo so its allowed to cost more just because of the band, not because u actually getting more car![]()
flame suit on. *waits for the 6*more than an GTR comment*
seecarr11 wrote:my question again is, if lambo or some italian brand had made the lfa, would you're opinion change or would the price have mattered?
by the way you wrote, i think it might, because you stated clearly its image/brand that would drive your choice.
the LFA a supercar and it should be compared to the other supercars. that is the market its aimed at. i brought a comparison on two cars that use the same construction material, both v10s, both doing 550+hp, both exclusive and you saying comparing them is silly?
sorry but that makes no sense
ThatDamnDrunk wrote:Toyota made cars like the Toyota 7 and the GT-one in its decorated Motorsports history. They also have achieved a manufacturers title in WRC and have also managed to participate in F1. Toyota definitely knows what its doing.
For those who think this is a slow car and have been reading magazines; just know that automotive journalists aren't the best drivers (something which is openly stated by top gear and has been proven on the nurburgring with sport auto super test driver Hourst Von Saurma; his GT-R time is more than 10 seconds slower than Toshio Suzuki's therefore making his tests inconclusive) and some are actually biased due to the car's nationality (proved again when the GT-R picked up a reputation for decimating some German supercars and some Germans couldn't believe it). To those who doubt the LF-A's performance, Toyota has claimed to have put down sub 7:20 laps on the Nurburgring though the actual lap times have never been released; however, for a car to be three seconds faster in the wet than the fastest wet lap on top gear's test track is a true statement of this car's performance (especially when the car it beat was an AWD Lamborghini). It's also notable to say that the Stig described this as his favourite for its sheer madness in the top gear magazine comparison of the top 2010 supercars.
But if you want to justify its price its no problem. Why is it so expensive? The engine is great; the v10 it revs to 9000rpm so fast that the tachometer had to be made digital to keep up with the engine's speed. But that's not it. Below is a video on how every part of the LF-A frame was made; that's aeronautical grade carbon fiber woven by one of only two of those machines (in the video) in the world. I dare you to price the cost of that machine
But everyone can feel free to still rant on like they know everything from a magazine of course![]()

when compared to other carbon fibre cars, this thing is a giveaway
seecarr11 wrote:how is 2.15million for the same 570hp/carbon fibre vs 350k getting more for your money? the interior doesn't even come close to the luxury in the LFA.
