My bad Duane...I know they have a site...I left out the word 'proper' in my previous post...typing from my BB. Read the letter...it dated Dec. 2010 referring to a Special GM for Jan. 2010. Yes its a typo, but at the end of the day, its the details that matter.

What has Daniel Ramoutarsingh accomplished in Motorsports that could deserve him being nominated over Sheldon ?

This is the sort of glaring political bobol that TTASA is so often involved in that has destroyed their credibility and relevance in Trinidad & Tobago Motorsports.

Shame on you TTASA !! Shame shame shame.

Shame on you Daniel for not recusing yourself and allowing the nomination to go to the best qualified individual, Sheldon Bissessar.

Shame on you FCB for not having any verification procedure for vetting the nominations submitted. Your awards' credibility is now in disrepute because of a so called governing body that has no credibility of its own.

Shame on all of us if we don't write every newspaper's editor to highlight this injustice.

Isn't Daniel one of the current or immediate past TTASA administrators ? I'm not saying that a TTASA Administrator cannot be nominated but at least there ought to be some superior performance above all other possible nominees. In this instant Daniel has done nothing to overshadow the magnificent performance of Sheldon Bissessar that has highlighted Trinidad & Tobago on the world stage.

Forget the fcb award....how do we get Sheldon nominated for TT Sportsman of the Year award???

Sheldon has been the only Motor Sport nominee ever selected in the top 10 - this in 2008 and 2009.

And with his incredibly outstanding performances achieved in 2010, and no athlete among the other nominees really having set any great records, one could easily have seen that he actually stood the best chance of winning the FCB Sportsman of the Year Award outright for 2010.

One hopes that the powers that be can see the glaring mistake being made and some attempt to rectify this is attempted. Another sad day for Motor Sport.

lets face it...there are only a few actual motorsport enthusiasts here....the majority are the footballers, cricketers etc etc

ppl watch these 'athletes' and see the physical training they doing and they wud feel more inclined to award them these things

very few ppl think abt motorsports as sports at all......
so we need to change that, we don't have the advantage of inviting young kids to a motorsports camp like all the other sports do to make our cause more aware

but it hav ting like gokarting etc that we cud involve young ppl in and make it a real sport from that age

right now, everybody views the ppl in motorsports as a pack of elitists and show-offers who jes jealousing one another cars and wanna make mas an ole noise on the roads

unless some of these things change, motorsport can never be taken seriously and be held as equal with other tried and true sports in the minds of the majority of ppl in trinidad
