glad yuh orn

power outages wont cause the modem to reset because it works on battery when there's no power (i read in a manual for the modem the internet itself only works for 15mins then shuts off to save power for the landline service which might last a couple hrs)

doh make much sense- the tech is a qualified electrician? more likely it might be your line or internal wiring

blink uses ADSL2+ which maxes out at 24mb/s -
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_de ... _broadband

they can't do anything unless they decide to roll out fiber/fios- but wait -even that only goes up to 50mb/s

flow most likely using docsis v3 in order to offer the 50 & 100mb/s packages

And if u want to upgrade to the 50meg or 100meg packages u will have to change your current modem, as they are only DOCSIS 2.0 compatible, the 25 meg packages are pushing the modems to their limit

ok so i changed to flow and internet browsing is better and much faster, but it seems like the connection is having a problem while connecting to limewire/ torrents (it connects but the speed is quite low), does flow have a firewall in place that i would need them to turn off?

Yup same slow dl speed wrt to torrents by me (south).

Only downloads from FTP sites net full speeds in excess of 600kBps, not very useful unless is hardware drivers or applications i downloading.

Speeds were actually better when it was just 2 MBps. :?

on a 5mb connection i'm getting 150kb/s download speed (max) with torrents, the general speed is a bit slow too. was working very very fast yesterday.

I still cant understand why on a multi MB connection you get D/L speeds of less then a MB

See previous pages wrt to torrents and seeds. You can't use torrents to get an actual idea of the speed.

that's because we're on a multi-megabit connection, 1 byte= 8 bits
so you would need a 8 megabit connection to give a download speed of 1 megabyte per second.

I have a 25 MB connection and getting the same rates on single connections as ruffneck mentioned.

These rates are there no matter the server. I've tested it with a 10M and 2 100M backbone servers.

I'm downgrading my package until Flow fixes this.
