rottedv, when i bought the car, it took me two years before i needed to repair the a/c and ends, joints, shocks within different months in a year.

538km is really good gas consumption. I get less and so does some of the other tuners here. make sure to use your fuel and injector treatment every so often. you will find the ECT button very temping to push though, which makes the car a bit more responsive and turns it into a bit of a gas guzzler if driven aggressively.

In terms of rim size, do not go above 16". Like in any other car, big rims tends to cause a strain and makes the car sluggish. I have 18" lightweight on my altis and I am really considering using 15" instead and yes, my 18"s already has some dings form these craters we have here.

different things can happen to it. the condenser can go bad or like in my case, it was an electronic malfuntion on the unit itself in the engine.

i forgot to mention though, if you want the big rim look on this car, 18" or 19" would not cut it, you would have to go with 20" and upwards which is not a good idea in my opinion.

well i just got mine
yes ppl i own a toyota ugly-tis (altis)
dont get me wrong i honestly find the car really ugly
but!! the ride and handling is great!..excelent for a daliy driver/roadtrip..etc.
if u can look pass the looks go buy one
disappiontments - the seat is abit uncomfortable *as said by someone else before*
also i'm not a bit fan of the cream interior and all that wood grain!
finally i really, really need to upgrade the outer appearance (not by putting crims eh!) , because straight up it looks like a woman's vehicle.

I recently bought an Altis and insured with Colfire fully comprehensive. Not sure if they changed things recently but with respect to d parts most dealers are bringing them in so no worries there.

Great vehicle! I've worked on alot as an installer! Superbly laid out! One of the majorly nice things about this vehicle is the factory transponder, gives you that peace of mind knowing you'll come back and find it where you left it, unless well, they towed it away, lol!

Notice to the right of the steering column there's a blinking security light! That is part of a factory fitted transponder from toyota! It involves the keys and the car's computer! When you insert the key into your cylinder, the car's computer validates the signal emmited from the key, if it matches a valid code stored in the computer's memory, the engine management is allowed, allowing the engine to start!
The key must be pre programmed to the computer, so only the keys you recieve with the vehicle will work! You cannot have keys duplicated for this car by just anybody! You have two options, either, you can duplicate the signal of the original key to a second one, or by another key and have it programmed to the car's computer by toyota! Either way, it's gonna cost you a fair bit!
Have you ever heard of an altis being stolen from a parked position by a means other than towing? LOL!

No NZE guy, your car doesn't have that! Only the Corolla altis not NZE! Yes mr Ztune, it basically makes alarm overklill!
