Man shot in penis while resisting arrest

A man will wait anxiously for the next few days after he was hospitalised yesterday after being shot in the penis by police.
Hugel Cummings, 38, of 156 North Ruimveldt, had a confrontation with police when the incident occurred. According to reports, Cummings who is allegedly wanted by police was confronted by two ranks sometime late yesterday afternoon in the Roxanne Burnham Gardens area when he put up a struggle.
A source told Kaieteur News that Cummings was getting the better of the two ranks during the confrontation, when one of the officers was forced to discharge a round to control the raging man. He was shot in the left side groin with the bullet piercing his penis in the process. According to the source, the man’s penis was badly swollen and up to press time it was not clear if the bullet had exited the penis or was still lodged there.
