The Singer 911 is just plain cool. The brand new company got started off on the right foot with this awesome take on a multigenerational 911. Evoking the spirit of the 60s original, the Singer 911 taps the best of each decade of Porsche engineering (the “race-bred chicâ€

http://www.singervehicledesign.com/ wrote:Chassis and Body
Singer Vehicle Design purchases fully road legal Porsche 911 3.2 Carreras of 1987-1989 vintage. When its transformation is complete, the newly born Singer 911 retains the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) of its donating ‘parent’ 911 and is legally registered, operated and licensed in the same manner. We see this process as a modest contribution to the recycling culture and one by which old 911s are reclaimed and perhaps saved from an uncertain future.

•The cars are comprehensively stripped of all componentry and the monocoque (unibody) is cleaned and media blasted to bare metal and then treated for rust prevention.

•The chassis is extensively strengthened and modified through seam/stitch welding and the insertion of a steel integral central stiffening structure along the car’s backbone.

•All bodywork to be replaced is stripped from the car and the chassis receives additional welding and strengthening in preparation for its carbon fiber bodywork.......

•Part of the modification process is the removal of the front and rear low speed ‘impact bumpers’ in preparation for substitution with carbon fiber units.

•The unique Singer 911 carbon fiber bodywork is constructed from premium ‘pre preg’ carbon fiber and is correctly vacuum bagged and baked to a temperature of over 250 degrees. These are true carbon fiber parts benefiting from the attributes of extreme strength and light weight.

•The areas of the car that are replaced with carbon fiber parts are as follows:

- Front fenders
- Front bumper/spoiler
- Front hood (bonnet)
- Lower side and rear rocker panels
- Rear fenders
- Rear bumper
- Rear engine deck lid/speed sensitive active rear spoiler
- Roof (note: a carbon roof is not fitted if a sunroof is specified)

Note:  The doors remain in steel in order to retain side impact resistance as they contain the impact safety beams fitted on later model 911s.

Engines
•The engines in the Singer 911 are based on the 3.6L units fitted to the U.S. 993 series cars from 1995.
•These engines are comprehensively stripped and then meticulously blue printed, balanced and hand built using state of the art componentry supplied by 9M Ninemeister in the UK.
•They range in capacity from 3.6L, through 3.75L to 3.82L.
•They range in power from 300-425 BHP and benefit from true state of the art breakthroughs in cylinder head design, construction and engine management and successfully optimize every facet of the classic air cooled flat six.
•We say with confidence that they are the most advanced, powerful, efficient and reliable air-cooled engines that are currently possible to build.
•3.6L 300 BHP
•3.75L 360 BHP
•3.82L 425 BHP
•Note:  A detailed engine specification document is available upon request.
