4 dead in accident in Sangre Chiquito (Cocoa Village???)

Postby janfar » January 17th, 2010, 9:46 am

Last night coming home about 1 am met up with the accident as it happened. Hilux on the road and Corrola (assista) wagon, on its side completely wrecked. Initially i thought it was a maxi, just to give and idea of the extent of the damage.Went to the vehicle and 1 guy hanging out the back, was still basping for breath, driver had already passed on.

We couldnt do anything for fear of causing futher damage as they were severely pinned. Only after when friends showed up they told us that there were 4 occupants. A young lady who was pinned behind the drivers seat (she was in the passengers seat. Also in the vehicle was another guy who was so crushed that he could only be seen when the fire services put the car on its wheels. Needless to say thay arrived about 45 mins after the fact. All had passed on by then. Hilux driver without as much as a scratch.

May they rest in Peace.

And from what the friends were saying it was one of the guys bday and they were going to Mayaro to lime. They stopped by a bar in Grande and bday boy got out one vehicle and got into the Assista.

They were literally broken up. It was to terrible (and heartless) to go about taking pics to bring here. Did consider it though.

I was there; they were part of my crew. I watched my friends die in front of my eyes....

Let me put some facts straight while we're on the topic.

We had headed by the bday boy's house, to cut cake etc. The plan was to go Manzanilla and just chill and lime till the sun came up, maybe do up a lil bonfire etc...

The bday boy was in my vehicle; one of the guys in the vehicle in the accident celebrated his bday on Friday.

We were moving convoy-style, me in front, the Corolla in the middle, another wagon in the back. The one in the back had overtaken the Corolla a few seconds before the accident though.

Hilux was coming down the road at a pretty considerable level of speed, I flashed my lights to just try to keep him aware, cut down on speed, pulled a little to the left...

After he passed me and my friend's vehicle, we just hear a loud bang. No brakes squealing or anything as such. Looked back in rearview mirror, the van was spinning in the road, and just a puff of dust otherwise.

Turned around, went down to see what was going on with my friends, but only the one in the back was breathing, but....

*sighs*

They were from Oropouche Rd (Sonja Cir.), S/Chiquito, Foster Rd and Guaico....

RIP Marvin, Rikki, Rickson and Saradia, you didn't deserve to go out like that.

*wipes tears*

btw Janfar, I'm happy you didn't look to take any pictures...I couldn't bear to look at their bodies, especially when I had to take one of their dogtags....

Kool man, you were the fat guy in black. Sorry you had to go through man. I was the guy that came in the black 323 (black nike jersey). It was really a tragic scenario. What pissed me of the most was that the driver of the van left the vehicle and went home and come back afterward without even due care of what was going on with the passengers of the other vehicle.

Also tragic was that the emergency services lines were all busy and then they took almost an hour to get there.

Ah, I remember you.

BTW, thanks for helping out in whatever way you could...that driver got me so pissed off when i hear he left the scene.

No worries, i never go pass an accident without trying to lend a hand. Never know when I might be in the same situation in need of help as well.

I guess in time I'll be fine, today is just a mess...haven't slept since the accident, no appetite, periodically breaking down into tears...

It's a pretty tight clique, so this is a huge blow for entire crew...but we have to soldier on in any case.
