WTK: Which is the better buy? 2006 Civic Local Used or RORO?

Postby ONEDSF » January 12th, 2010, 1:16 am

Need to get some constructive feedback to determine which would be the better buy, the new Civic model RORO or a Local used? Apart from the difference in the headlights and tailights are there any other major differences, benefits or disadvantages that one might have over the other? What about $$$ of parts available locally? Any and all help and comments appreciated. Thanks.

Local used is the better buy. You are sure to get parts and service. Also you can test drive, inspect properly and negotiate price before purchasing. The vehicle condition and mileage would also be genuine unlike the foreign, with roll back mileage. The advantage with a foreign used is a new number plate,no transfer tax, and maybe a couple more features than the local. Overall the local used is the better buy.

Thanks praise. What about the cost of replacement parts locally. For example I know it's a bit more difficult to get parts on the outside (Bamboo) for the local ES1/ES8 series. Not impossible, just requires more hunting around. Is it the same with the newer Civic series or are the engine, tranny etc. essentially the same?

Honda's engine and transmission, once properly maintained and correct fluids used, will last quite a long time. There may be slight difference between the local and foreign engines, but the can be interchanged if the need arises. Body and suspension are identical, so no problems in this regard.

Selling mine if interested. Will also give you link to very cheap OEM parts, fenders-$1200.00, bonnet-$2500.00, brakes pad-$450.00, headlights-$2500.00 a pair ETC.

well part may be a problem, they are for now, hardly any RORO model on d road..so i will assume they arnt much part, unless the mechanical parts from the ES model working on it!
Classic motors never brought down this model on Civic...they started with the current model dats popular on the road! so tought luck getting any part(body or mechanical) from them!
the best bet is to go local...it stats at 195,000 though :|
