Greetings from Singapore!

Postby headshok » January 11th, 2010, 7:17 am

Hi Guys!

Greetings from the sunny island of Singapore!

I didnt see any " introduction" thread in this forum, so would like to say hi to my fellow ICE folks down here.

Anyway, its pretty cool you guys have quite a hip audio scene too!

Just would like to share how we roll down here in Singapore

Down here,

its 99% SQ in Singapore and people think that loud setups are for ignorant folks ( which i feel is stupid), but its a pity.

Personally i'm a bass head, but i also appreciate the audiophile side of things.

I also own a little company called Shok Industries that supplies accessories like power cables and fuse distro blocks to my guys in the US.

Anyway, here's some pics for you guys to enjoy!

CheerS!

Ferrari is using Eb Tec 2 way LS series component spkrs,

3 Genesis amps ( one stereo 100, 1 Genesis 475 and one Genesis dual mono).

And the sub is a slim earthquake woofer.

Whoa, is that an Earthquake 12" SWS I'm seeing there? How do those things perform? Ever measured its t/s specs? I'm curious to see if the measured specs matched the published ones, and if this driver can actually deliver as much as its published Xmax spec suggests it would.

I can see Jeff and Nigel packing up to head over to Singapore now...

and just incase anyone didn't realise, those amps are located in the front of the car! i.e. it has no rear trunk..

If he could found a way to place the sub in that location and vent it into the cabin, he would have true "up-front bass" :).

Hi all,

thanks for the warm welcome, i'll be posting up my SQ competition car build log up here soon :)

as for the earthquake slim sub, its only the 10" sub.

we put it in a little ported box (according to the recommendations that came with the sub) to maximize output.

But for a little 10", it sure can pack a punch!

Its super ideal for installs whereby there is no space for a sub OR if a the car owner needs his boot space.

We had this same woofer in an Toyota Estima( MPV) in the centre console. Packed quite a punch in the front! but it lacks the lows of a " proper" sub. so its a good substitute for a space saver, but performance is definitely sacrificed.

But what i hear is an excellent flat sub is the JL Flat subs... haven yet to hear it but heard lots of good things about it :)

cheers all

hi guys,

found a picture of one of the olderinstalls.

This car was driven by a family man who DID NOT WANT to use his boot space.

So everything was tucked under the seats.

but what was amazing was that we stuffed a Morel supremo 5" in the A pillars and a supremo 9" in the doors!

he also had an earthquake SWS 10" in the centre console, you can see it at the bottom of one of the pictures..

Head unit is an alpine #F1

the sub enclosure is in the middle bottom of the pic

the door holes were HUGE!

There was an enquiry ( going to reply that enquiry soon ) from your country and I'm here to check things out :)

MOre pics to come soon. do watch out

Cheers!
