EK9 or EP3 Honda Civic Type-R?

Postby Gallardo » December 15th, 2009, 8:23 pm

Hey, tsup! haven't been here in a while!!!

Was considerin buyin a Type R but weighin my options with either the EK9 or the EP3....I know, I know, the Ep3 is NEWER and it has the K20 'n' all but I heard the transmission and the engine block on the K series is kinda weak and the block can crack under some pressure :( . Plus, I sure as hell can't find body parts for an EP3 in d bamboo!

and, What prices are local used EK9s and EP3s goin for right now?

Laterz!!!!

Although am a EK lover I think the EP3 is a much nicer vehicle.
Parts wise for the EP3 it would be harder to find in comparison with
a EK.

the EK9 would be the better choice, performance and service part,s are available(the B16b block being the unique exception),it,s a more fun and better looking car, it,s also lighter. if you can find one that has not been abused, would be a good choice. or purchase a stock EK3 hatch & swap a K20a2 engine with 6 speed gearbox, upgrade the brakes & suspension, you,ll be forever smileing . that,s what being a true tuner is about ,building it , not buying it. good luck :D , 8-) .

EP3 type R doesn't have the same tranny setup as the DC5... no LSD I believe (I wish it weren't true)... for that fact alone, I'd go EK
