It appears Kimi may not be out of the F1 2010 season.

Rumours are flying around that he's taking a seat at MercedesGP (BrawnGP renamed).

Geez and ages, top 3 drivers are going to be in competitive cars in different teams!

Lewis, Kimi and Alonso.

I'm sure Vettel, Massa, Button and Webber will also be wanting a piece of the action.

2010 is shaping up to be a very interesting season.

The celebratory champagne will once again be flowing on the race track now that officials are set to announce the Canadian Grand Prix's return to Montreal next year.

Mayor Gerald Tremblay will announce Friday that a deal has been reached with the body that runs Formula One. The race will return to the circuit Gilles Villeneuve racetrack, where it had been held for more than 30 years.

About $75 million in confirmed funding from the federal, provincial and municipal governments will guarantee that the race stays in the city until 2014.

The race had been held in Montreal annually since 1978 before being dropped unexpectedly in 2009, reportedly because Formula One boss Bernie Ecclestone demanded more money.

The Montreal Formula One race draws wealthy tourists from all over the world, with visitors spending an average $75 million in just under a week.

One business owner told CTV Montreal he makes five times more money during Grand Prix week than any other time of the year.

"This of course is huge for the city. It's great for Montreal, its great for Canada, it's the biggest tourist attraction in the country," reporter Daniele Hamamdjian told CTV News Channel.

The cancellation of the Montreal race in 2009 left a gaping hole for North American Formula One fans who were left without a race on the continent.

There is speculation that the poorly performing Turkish Grand Prix will be dropped in favour of Montreal on the schedule.

Volkswagen express interest
German manufacturer could supply engines beyond 2012

Volkswagen could make an appearance in Formula One in 2012, but as an engine supplier rather than as a team owner.

'Schu is ready to race'
"His neck is completely fine," manager insists

Michael Schumacher's manager Willi Weber has said that the neck injury which prevented his Formula One comeback last season has healed.

In August, Ferrari announced that the seven-times World Champion would make a return to the cockpit to replace Felipe Massa, who sustained serious injuries in a qualifying accident at the Hungarian Grand Prix.

However, just days later Schumacher announced that a neck injury he sustained in a motorbike accident during the winter had not healed sufficiently for him to race.

Rumours of a comeback continue to persist, however, with former team owner Eddie Jordan claiming last week that Schumacher would race for Mercedes GP in 2010.

"His neck is completely fine - like his entire psyche," Weber told German weekly Bunte.

With Schumacher, who turns 41 in January, having retired at the end of 2006, Weber also downplayed fears that his reputation might suffer if a comeback is attempted.

"He could race for victories," he insisted before going so far as to suggest that Ferrari would run him if they were able to field a third car.

I guess that explains why Kimi is going to WRC to drive for Citroen because of this. They need a replacement.

Loeb closes on Peugeot Le Mans seat

Peugeot is lining up World Rally champion Sebastien Loeb as part of its driving squad for next year's Le Mans 24 Hours.

Loeb tested at Motorland Aragon in Spain last week alongside Peugeot regulars Sebastien Bourdais, Marc Gene, Franck Montagny and Alex Wurz.

The team has now confirmed that this test was conducted with a view to Loeb racing at Le Mans next season. The Frenchman will continue to test with Peugeot over the next three months before the squad decides whether he should be part of its Le Mans assault.

"Sebastien Loeb made an active contribution to the test which formed part of a programme leading up to a possible participation for the Frenchman in the 2010 Le Mans 24 Hours, given that there is no WRC round scheduled the same weekend," said a Peugeot statement.

"Sebastien will now take part in Peugeot Sport's upcoming simulation tests, and a decision regarding his incorporation in the Peugeot Total squad for next June's race will be taken jointly at the end of February."

Loeb contested Le Mans with Pescarolo in 2005 and 2006, finishing second overall in the latter event. He first tested the Peugeot 908 last autumn, but Le Mans clashed with the Acropolis Rally this year.

^I sees it i sees it

Yea i'm a Koba fan too

Ferrari and McLaren should be in the driving seat next year...large budgets, and more time given they didn't concentrate on last year's car...essentially they should be in the position Brawn/Honda and RedBull were the season before...

In for an interesting year...
