What are some of the home remedies for getting rid of a bad cough?


I am just getting over the flu and the cough is now coming on! Dont want to use cough syrups cuz those sh!t dont work for me!

Seriously go back to the doctor, my son had the flu and as it started to clear up the coughing didn't stop for about a week, took him back to the doctor and he said he developed an infection which kept him coughing really bad, gave him some antibiotics and it cleared up in less than a two days.

i dont think its an infection

cuz i can feel the cold in my chest,i just hate coughing and having to spit ever so often!

I got a sore throat first,then the fever came on.........i took medication for the fever,now its eased up a little,i started coughing!

I had a bad flu about 3 weeks ago, probably de swine, I eh know.

I feel fine now, but the cough isn't gone yet. Some days it's light, some days it's heavy. Dry cough too.

Unless you sniffing saffron, yellowish mucus is a sign of bacterial infection. It could have resulted from a possible mild flu infection.

Do NOT use products with cough suppressants example Tuscosed because the mucus will not move out as it should and the infection could get worse leading to bronchitis. If you get a fever lasting more than 3 days then you need antibiotics, if you do get do not just use it for a few days but follow the prescribed duration or else you will be promoting bacterial resistance.

I strongly suggest you get an non suppressing (no codeine, no DM which unfortunately means no "nice" feeling) cough expectorant like Buckley's original or a really good cheap on called BRO-ZEDEX and use it for at least 3 days.
