The better team won. And the T&T players will have to admit that.

But T&T, as the Intl. announcers have said, were the pride of the tournament.

Foget all the negatives, they have done their best.

Since when Gov't supposed to be sponsoring sports?

Trinbagonians forever in a hand out mentality.
You ever see any other DEVELOPED nation with gov't assistance to national teams in the same way?

PRIVATE INVESTMENT is how it should be done.

Go check the stats of the Indian company who sponsored our boys...traffic to their POS website up 40%...stueps...Trinis go never learn!

Congratulations to NSWB

And a very heart felt congratulations and thanks to the T20 Trinidad and Tobago Cricket Team ... you guys hold your heads high. You ALL have made this country very proud and for the duration of all your matches you made us forget the curses this pNm government has bought upon this country and you ALL have done the ultimate for National pride and Unity.

To the Captain Daren Ganga, you have proven yourself to be the best cricketing mind in the entire West Indies. You are indeed a great Cricketer and a gentleman.

Cheers!

the govt of any country always plays a major role in developing sports and youth affairs, however their counter claim is that they already invested 14 million into cricket in the country over the past 3 years. I know not how much of this is true. Just bringing wat was said into the light..

No he is not being sarcastic, he is being accurate. Sporting bodies/individuals should not rely the government to provide funding.

The US Olympic Committee has a "no public funds" policy and instead rely on corporate America and citizen donations. We should appreciate this statement and initiative and by way of product support or boycott, let TT corporations make the choice.

Case in point, not one single local corporation stepped forward to sponsor the Team, yet, during all their matches and more so for this finals, they were ever so quick TV and radio advertise to the extent that overs were not even finished properly, no replays, half way into overs viewers were bombarded by their ads. it is up to us to decide, do we support their selfish, cheap and opportunistic bid for viewer eye-balls without them offering any sponsorship or do we boycott - not buy their product in mass for a month or some other legal method.

We Trinis go really never learn

So you mean to tell me...NO LOCAL corporation thought it worth their while to put their brands name on the Jersey of our boys. I wish that Indian Chicken guy the best of luck and hope he reaps the rewards. Now all local companies will be scrambling to put their names on the next T20 team they field. I hope he out bids them all...bunch of bandwagonists!

As I said before the guy's website traffic is UP 40% since the tournament started.

The thing look like a 12 yr old built it...that don't matter, all that matters is the MONEY in the bank, and I hope he racks in ALL with upcoming contracts due to exposure. All you multi this and international 9002 certification companies in Trini with MYOPIA crapaud smoke your pipe. Missed opportunities...

sharkman121,
exactly, they are supposed to play a role in sport development. however, look at the scandal surrounding the sponsorship. after the avenues were exhausted, couldn't they have at least subsidized half? fly them over for free? anything? i mean the football team get 1 mil per player just for qualifying last time. these boys take trini to the finals.

if i'm wrong i don't mind admitting it and learning,

btw, its not an anti gov't rant, it just that my opinion is that they could have helped more if they wanted to.

anyhow, great effort by the team and was refreshing to see a team effort throughout the tournament. well done and hope they use this as a stepping stone to greater things.

...how much more you want the gov't to give? Cricket is given LOADS of money every single year from the gov't.

This is NOT on the same level as the World Cup!

Gimme Gimme Gimme...beggers. Sound just like Beethamites y'all love to chant down.

When last you seen the US Olympic squad beg for money from the local, state or federal gov't???

Oh right NEVER-all private corporations who understand the business of global brand recognition. Their teams are being broadcasted ALL over the globe, CHEAP advertisement!
