Toyota service, what has to be done @ 20,000 km...

I now reached 20k km on the hilux 2.5 manual 4x4 turbo and planning not to service @ TTTL.
Any advice as what needs to be done in addition to:-
Engine oil change,
Oil filter.
Fuel filter.
Also I am gettin the N.P. Ultra diesel syn-tec oil for $202 per 5lt size.
Should I go with that and change oil @ 10k km instead of the Castrol turbo Max and change @ 5k km?
And where can I get the filters on the outside and what brand you recommend?

i using castrol synthec 5w50 on the hilux and toyota said every 10k is good to service.

I believe the OEMs air filters are washable ... if you're going to be changing often ... a Sakura/Purloator. Or you can drop in a K&N (not applicable to dusty conditions).

i use the mobil 1 15-40 and the fram 10,000mile oil filter, Sakura fuel filter and i have K+N oem drop in air filter. I change engine oil + filter + fuel filter every 10,000km and wash out the air filter.

Yes, in the older models, not sure about the newer models. It's written on the air filter ... have a look.

Newto, For the 20K Km service just follow whats in the back of the owner's manual.

Dont forget to grease your driveshaft and rotate the tires.

Also according to TTTL you're supposed to retorque your suspension every 10k Km. I can't recall the figure in the owner's manual offhand though.. I'll check when I get back home.

What exactly needs to be retorqued on the suspensnion? Break that down for me please.

Service manager had say all the bolts on the suspension had to be retorqued. He didn't go into more detail than that.

I'll check my manual and see if it has that as an entry. If so, I'll have to get stuck(mr I don't need an oil filter wrench) to help me retorque. LOL

Newto.. one thing to note... If you're going to use the K&N... don't over oil them. Apparently if you do that it causes one of the sensor to throw a bad reading and you could go into limp mode. So be careful with that

BTW Some of the hilux men use Mobil Delvac1 full synthetic.

teh MAF sensor acts up with too much K&N oil

u can get a MAF cleaer spray to clean it out as good measure
