reminds me of a lil newspaper clipping from a few weeks ago:

Clico out Tobago Jazz Festival
Shaliza Hassanali | 9:04 pm
Published: January 24th, 2009
Trinidad Guardian

CL Financial Ltd, main sponsor of Tobago’s much-touted Plymouth Jazz Festival, is pulling out of the 2009 event. Though the company’s marketing manager, Wynell Gregorio, admitted on Friday that the fifth jazz festival would see new promoters and sponsors taking the baton from CL Financial, she declined to say if the move was a result of cost-cutting brought on by the global economic crisis. Gregorio also could not say which company would be the new sponsor of the jazz festival, which attracts thousands of music-lovers and tourists to the tropical island.

A source at CL Financial, which has more than 65 companies in 32 countries worldwide, said the company was curbing its spending in all areas. The source said the festival was scheduled to take place from April 24 to 26, and negotiations with foreign artistes were being finalised. The budget for the 2007 festival had surpassed $30 million.

really!
