WTK. How to permanently delete deleted files

Postby TechLing » October 3rd, 2008, 10:31 pm

Recently got a new laptop from HP. I uninstall some unnecessary software and maybe add a few photo albums (300MB for the most), but when I restart, my hard-drive space decreases by about 2GB.. everytime.

How do I permanently delete files that I already emptied from the Recycle Bin? Vista btw. Step-by-step instructions plz.

i do forensic data recovery. so, to answer your question:

-files aren't really deleted when u empty the trash NOR are they when u reformat. data is almost ALWAYS recoverable

-to protect your privacy, use any program that can do a 'safe delete'. i would advise a military level 7 delete.

note: level 7 deletes take quite a while longer than a normal delete.

There are many things that could cause this, but the main one, seeing as it is vista, could be that your system restore(shadow) is set at the upper limit. Therefore it keeps eating up space to make restore points.

try this link:

Use Ashampoo Software

that program will Really Delete the unwanted files from the Recycle Bin

do the highest Delete Process

100MB might take a 10min

Postby mitsutt » October 4th, 2008, 1:28 pm

I'll try to make it simple
Do a military level 7 delete, then do a level 4 delete, then do a command promt and enter recycle bin, press enter 4 times, wait for the blue screen, press F6 then do a system restore, empty d recycle bin, do another military level 7 delete, restart d computer then go by a computer tech cause u would now be facked.Let me know if its works.

larger page files help load faster more stuff is store as RAM on the HDD
vista uses more than a gig of RAM just to run the base system

TK!,

What is forensic data recovery?
Is it done by a company, or do you do it private?
