Finisher for Double DIN opening

Postby 323_wagon_dude » April 24th, 2007, 8:17 am

I was installing a head unit in my sis' L Touring wagon this weekend when I decided to off it up against the double din opening in the new model corolla and hilux. The height fits great and works perfectly with a din pocket. However, there is a vertical space on both sides of the head unit and din pocket, for both the hilux and corolla. Currently, both the hilux and corolla have the original double din head units from toyota. Is there a finisher I can buy and install to make the installation look complete?

Has anyone experienced this? If so, how did you get around this? :?:

Thanks.

my sister's 323LX had a 1.5DIN space for the HU, so for the install, we ended up cutting a finisher from piece of 3/8" MDF lying around and using some texture spray and then some flat black spray paint...came out looking pretty pro (if I do say so myself)

check the firm for the side pieces. it bolts on to the sides of the deck and the pocket, as it has the rounded top and bottom edge to seal off the hole.
