But not affecting the prisoners who inside and calling shots?
It probably affecting the officers who can't call they outside birds on a 24 hr rotation or whatever and can't sell the inmates phone cards either

Prison officers need to account for reasons comms are free flowing in and out of prison.

From what I understand they could get warrants from a JP. So they ain't really even have the 'warrant system compromised' excuse.
If was me, i woudl a take pride in the ability to use warrants to target criminals. Galavanting in bid drag net is admitting incompetence

It stalls and buys time because what happens when it is lifted .....forget that what happened with the last SOE PNM put us under murders continued like normal. Ppl even forgot we were under a SOEsnowman wrote:But does an SOE actually disrupt plans or just delay it?

I've heard they strip the wires to the lighting circuits and wrap their chargers directly. So the jail wasn't wired in rigid conduit? Exposed wires ain't a massive OSHA violation?
Before we get into jammers and moving prisoners in the middle of the night into communication free areas, whatever that means, here's a simple dollar fix. Change around one wire in the panel to make all lighting circuits 220v and install 220v bulbs. Chargers and phone go go pax pax. All hit from the jail done, no SOE required
I think everyone knows how to stop this nonsense but deliberately playing dotish

Ghost Gangs to Destabilise TT.
It is perhaps the most pre-emptive strike on crime. Because for years we ( Ground Google) know that the jails are the engine room for crime. A revolving door for criminals. We get stories straight out of jail, courtesy mostly Digicel which was the main go to at the time there were Digi to Digi calls free after 10 pm.
The prisoners would let us know about jail conditions and ask for a phone card in return. Or money to buy cigarettes which was the main currency after the authorities stopped selling cigarettes in the prison parlour, creating a black market. And then there was weed and guns.
The evidence of gun smuggling came when Hassan Atwell, Scanny and Monster, used one in a jail break one afternoon in July 2015, killing a policeman in the process, but running wild after they escaped because they had no plan.
They got a gun from the inside.
The prison officers who are not criminally complicit would have a hard time on their jobs because by now the criminals are running the jail and they can intimidate any prison officer by making threats to his family. It's more than one or two prison officers have been gunned down, on orders from inside.
The controversial Assistant Commissioner of Police Suzette Martin had been, over the past few months, making what seemed like regular raids in the prisons. She, the one with balls as the men in the TTPS say, knew where the headquarters of organised crime, was located, as we all did.
But she only came out of it with a couple of prison officers arrested and a few knives and dangerous home made weapons collected.
But nobody catered for Police Commissioner Allister Guevarro. He's not your run of the mill cop who acquired the top seat because of seniority. Or because he was hand picked by politicians. Rather he is a man with 30 odd years working strictly in police intelligence through the Special Branch, which dictates his approach to the job.
There are so many leaks in national security, police officers and soldiers who get drawn into trouble because of the areas in which they live and become part of the criminal syndicate led from inside the prisons.
Therefore Guevarro's modus operandi must be radically different, if he has to drive a dagger into the heart of crime.
For example, he must deviate from the national standard set by Gary Griffith.: so Guevarro did not take a news crew with him to a soft target. Instead with the Proclamation of the SOE which gave him the powers of arrest without a warrant, he led a team in the dead of night to the MSP and removed the men identified as the heads of the syndicate to a place where communication is limited. That's before we even knew there was an SOE.
It was a preemptive strike.
It's a start, getting at the heart of the local syndicate that is collaborating for kidnappings, home invasions and everything else that goes hand in hand with the spate of car thefts. SUVs and not Tiida are the choice for the thieves nowadays, because they just borrow your can and use it for a job before they abandon it, without leaving a trace, except their fingerprints which may not be on the police database anyway, due to shortcomings in technology.
In the Commissioner 's first communication via Press Release at 6:42 this morning he specified " targeted attacks against senior officials and national institutions", spoke of the "severity of the threats" , " a structured campaign involving multiple criminal entities whose targets include senior police officers, members of the judiciary, personnel in the office of the DPP and Prison Officers".
The source of the money did not just involve kidnapping and robberies, but also the " infiltration of state funded contracts and programmes.".
At his press conference a few hours later, he mentioned URP. Please note that just as there is an audit of CEPEP, the same thing is happening with the URP, which has been sustained for corruption, and where gangsters who get very many of the contracts, are now in threat of losing a source of funds.
Please remember Gary Griffith openly warned his previous bosses in the PNM about handing out state contracts to the criminals because they were only using the money, (hundreds of thousands of dollars) to buy guns. And how many lives one box drain would have cost? The box drain money was the main reason for many gang wars.
Just as they have been trying hard to stir up emotions about thousands of hungry CEPEP workers, and by race baiting, the opposition People's National Movement should be mindful to not , for emotional appeal among only criminals, disgrace the work of the TTPS in an effort to destabilise the government.
Thus far they have successfully engaged frontline UNC soldiers , for weeks, on CEPEP and Bangladesh. They have not generated momentum on the ground with bacchanal politics, except to keep rabid followers engaged and talking.
So the PNM is now like click bait. And it matters not how much data the UNC provides, the hardcore PNM do not want to go beyond the headlines, and the Guardian Media House caters to that, wholeheartedly.
British journalists, and YouTuber Chris Must List, come to Trinidad and understand the underbelly of this small place, where you must live in a bubble not to see what Guevarro knows, though he carefully chose his words. It was a threat to destabilise the country, concocted and directed from inside the prisons supported by operators on the outside...and cheerleaders in the public space.
He is a good, clean unblemished policeman who is getting the right support to do what he was hired to do. It is simply to be smarter than the criminals.
Will Opposition Leader Penny Beckles continue to offload click bait on us via Marvin Gonzales? Or will she lead responsibly, taking all national concerns into consideration,as if she was practicing to lead this country as Prime Minister, and not just a red jersey band of sailor mas?
Clearly while her PNM soldier Kareem Marcelle , speaking at his home base in Beetham last week, declared war, is Penny a General? In that war?
Will she take responsibility for the gun toting enablers who will also rise up if they are called ?
Because what is the intent when you are calling out Beetham, Sea Lots and Morvant when there are CEPEP workers all over the country? Why not La Horquetta and Arima?
How far will click bait take you?
