Health Minister reports $80M in expired drugs at Nipdec; blames wastage on lack of integrated inventory management system.

During the mid-year review in the House of Representatives on Monday 23rd June, 2025, Health Minister, Dr Lackram Bodoe revealed that approximately $80 million in pharmaceuticals and non-pharmaceutical supplies had expired at Nipdec.

Bodoe blamed this wastage on the lack of an integrated inventory management system, which has reportedly been an ongoing problem for the last ten years.

Yeah because as pugboy said, the SRC is independent which is the excuse Rowley used to get the salary hike.

But the SRC report and its process is being challenged in the courts which will answer the question if a government can reverse it:

Hilaire out: Howai tipped as replacement

The appointment of Dr Alvin Hilaire as Governor and chairman of the Central Bank of Trinidad and Tobago (CBTT) has been revoked.

He is tipped to be replaced by former minister of finance Larry Howai.

The Express understands Hilaire’s appointment was revoked yesterday by President Christine Kangaloo at the request of the Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar-led Cabinet.

Sources told the Express the Government took this decision because Hilaire was not co-operating with providing information, in particular regarding the ongoing foreign exchange crisis, among other reasons.

Hilaire was first appointed governor and chairman of the CBTT on December 23, 2015, according to the Central Bank’s website.

His term was renewed twice and was due to expire in December 2026.

More than likely they have to pay him off plus he can sue ...hilaire is a staunch PNM so this would be his form of retaliation as he was unwilling to cooperate

The demerit points system is still in effect. The minister of transport hasn't gone to parliament to have it removed as yet. If your feelings turn out to be factual, has nothing to do with the removal of the demerit points system.

Many stories makes sense but doesn't mean it's true. AR's story makes more sense than the heavy insinuations rhoda barath was perpetuating on social media that AR was drunk, driving a ministry vehicle that caused the accident. So far him driving a "ministry vehicle" was debunked because it was his own private vehicle that was involved in the accident. Waiting on TTPS and we'll see if there was really a bad driving benz that was involved.
