Making that statement that unidentified vessels entering Trinidad waters will be met with deafly force is barely a threat…..

However the Venezuelan govt saying her statements may make her Complicit in the alleged act of incursion with weapons of war with the intention to destabilize that government…. That sounds more like a justification for a threat…..

So back to the hordes I referred too. The act of the former govt to NOT act to stymie the flow of migrants… that act was reckless. Since I was answering your “reckless” comment

Deflecting is where you go off on who doing what here….

I still don’t have an answer as to your declared war comment I don’t know how to explain.. that’s not how it works… to you. Sorry

Informing your military to fire on any unidentified vessel coming from that country is a declaration of war. That is exactly how it works. She could have said intercept instead of fire. She chose her words carefully.

Ok palo. You’re right. That’s how it works.

"A declaration of war is a formal statement made by one state to another, announcing that a state of war exists or is about to commence. It signifies the official transition from a state of peace to a state of conflict."

Isn't this exactly what your PM did? Or is it that she can't do any wrong in your eyes? If what she did isn't serious then why is it making news globally?

No you are absolutely right. We are at war with Venezuela now!!!!

Umm where is that statement please for my edification

I’d want to keep it handy

What statement? Please tell me you don't think that a written statement needs to be dispatched to Venezuela declaring war. Please tell me that you're not that dull.

No well the declaration of war the formal statement had to come from the president so I’m looking for it. You know commander in chief and all.

So if you could point me in that direction I’d be glad

Oh right. So you think that Venezuela is going to wait for a formal statement from the President to view it as that.

Oh so you know how they view it….

Do you speak to birds like Maduro does as well? I mean if you understand how they view things….

The point is we don't know how they view statements like that. That's why you use diplomatic language to communicate correctly.

Since you are so well read and know that the President is in charge of the military why is your PM trying to appear as though she can order the coast guard?

Shifting the goal posts. Typical

I’m not. I’m waiting for your guidance on the declaration of war.

You haven’t answered that.
Please guide me accordingly as per our constitution

But I also asked if you too communicate with birds as Maduro does so I’d be confident you knew how they … The leader of the Bolivarian govt … thinks…

Venezuela is in no shape to take on war, larger army or not. They can barely feed their population with shortages of grains and meat still prevalent. Maybe Maduro should solve those issues before trying to annex Guyana and beef with TT

Correct

Maduro is using his military for domestic issues against his people and to protect his government. A war is wasting his limited resources.

As I mentioned earlier, I suspect that he will use state sponsored criminal gangs to do his bidding as what he is doing now in Guyana. THAT is what we have to be worried about.

Usa dint care about we, but they do care about crashing Venezuela.

They will use thst opportunity to flex in the global south , in a theater that is steeped in their favor. They rack up a lot of L's all over the globe in recent times and could do with an ego boost .

So we just stop acknowledging that the US itself has announced to the world that it would no longer be playing a role in global affairs?

We completely ignoring Trump america first policy?

When facing an adversary in a conflict that you know you have very little chance of winning, you are left with a few options.

Bow down, and ass up
Put up as best a defense as you can for as long as you can and hope your allies come to your aid before your defenses collapse
Use stealth and strategy to eliminate the leaders of the opposing force, including their head of state (no more president, war tends to get put on hold for awhile, sometimes permanently)

America is not coming to our aid, too much expense with very little return. We'd faster get help from other caribbean islands and Commonwealth nations as well as Canada or the UK before America gets involved.
That being said, in the event of an attack on Trinbago by the Venezuelan military, T&T military will have to do the best they can with what they have, but it's the actions of the T&T population that will decide the outcome. I don't believe most Trinbagonians would be willing to risk their lives to engage in war as conscripts or volunteers, but everyone will be willing to defend themselves as best they can. Do not be mistaken, in the event of Venezuelan military coming to T&T, by the time they are done with the defense forces here, their next immediate target will be Trinbagonian civilians, starting with men and women of military age, and expanding outward to include everyone else including minors, the elderly and disabled. Yes, targeting civilians and noncombatants are war crimes, but if they don't care about their own civilians starving I highly doubt they'll have qualms about committing war crimes here.

Is an armed conflict with Venezuela a good idea for T&T? No.
Is it better to be diplomatic? Yes, but only to an extent. When you are being slapped in the face, you only got so many cheeks to turn, and your cheeks will definitely get tired of being slapped long before the hand slapping them get tired of dishing them out.
Can they interpret KPB statements as a declaration of war? They can, but can they justify their interpretation? Her statement wrt TTCG to defend our territory against approaching unidentified vessels with deadly force if needed, is justifiable, because whether you agree with it or not, that's the purpose of the coast guard, that's the job.

At most, all any of us can do is watch and wait to see what direction this takes. At this point, speculation is pointless

Might be a good idea for the state to start rounding them up and detaining them from now, indefinitely, every single one, including and especially new arrivals.

Last thing you want is for them to start sending intel back home

For all the cucks in here talking about how the PM should have used diplomatic language etc, pray tell why did Mad man Maduro jump out with a nonsensical claim of terrorists entering from Trinidad in the International forum with claims of them attempting to destabilize the sheithole called Venezuela?

Study what the intention of such a claim was , and the way it was made. For Crice sakes, even Rowley comes up with better nonsensical claims than that.

There is a reason why no one likes Venezuelans, even in South America. The language barrier has really blinded a lotta people to how they are. I meet a Chilean fella in the city where I living, while waiting to speak to my realtor, and he say that the Venezuelans there have made Chile considerably more unsafe than it has ever been historically. He says they insult native Chileans to their face, and I suspect it's the same thing in Trini, only thing is, Trinis don't know Spanish.
