Motie should be on the team as an all-rounder. He has averaged 45 and 52 in ODI cricket in 2023 and 2024. His batting is underrated.

His batting average in tests for 2025 thus far is 3 runs less than Shai Hopes carer test average.

Good point, Chase is also an "all-rounder"

Not unexpected the cut-ass that WI got.

That was not a WI TEAM playing at all.

Yup.

A direct quote from my cousin- LOL:

It's not the first time Ireland beat west indies it goes back since 1969 bowling the west indies to their lowest total of 25,and they got beaten right here in the Caribbean 3 years ago,so if you think you can just all of sudden pick a side and players coming from various leagues to play and win a game, think again, I expect them though to play better in the final match and against England in 2 weeks time by then they would have enough preparation with no excuses.

In a sea of white ball cricket there's actually a Test ongoing
Day 1 England Zimbabwe and England batting 389-2 and there's still 20 overs in the day's play left.
This could get very ugly for Zimbabwe.

Root will be studied for years to come. He was on the fringes of the Fab four conversations for much of their careers.
Now he averages over 50 in tests while Kohli has bowed out in the high 40s. His overall batting has blossomed in the past few years.

Also WI continues to show why them missing out on the last ODI WC was probably justified.
TBH I find that format was the best. The qualifying period meant every ODI series and even individual games had context. Something missing in ODI cricket since the advent of T20s. A ten team ODI WC also is much more manageable.
Cricket is not football and so we need to not think the Cricket WC has to have 20 teams for participation sake.

The same qualifying track as used for 2023 ensures that all the minnows get two series against the likes of Australia, India and England. This is more valuable than a one off trip to a WC where they may not even make it out of a qualifying group.

Motie made 63 in the last ODI today.
Man is the all rounder WI needs.

Also IPL final ongoing PBKS 136-5 after 16 overs chasing 191 against RCB

Is this the year Kohli wins the IPL??

WI lost 3=0 to England in the odi 50 overs,

WI A losing to South Africa A right now. SA A put up about 600 for 7 against a WI A side including John Campbell, Imlach, Athanaze and company.

LICKS ALL AROUND.

WI have been a bottom tier ODI team since Lara's been there. This is par for them. Basically the only team they could flex on is Zimbabwe

Why are these fellas not retiring as well though. Why keep yourself open to international cricket when you only could play a match here a match there.
