Times I hear what you saying but it boils down to who needs whom. It have trinis who can't live without going farin. The majority need to travel. If trinidad was to impose visa restrictions on the world then that means less money for trinidad because we aren't the only caribbean country, the other countries will capitalise on such and encourage foreigners to come to their country without the hassle for visa.timelapse wrote:I find we should have visas for countries that make us get one.Respect is a 2 way street.

I agree in theory, but if we restrict people from coming here they just won't come. Jamaica has better beaches and Rio has a better carnival. The only people who will suffer are people who have relatives here and can't get to see them
Only way that can happen Is if CARICOM was unified but we aren'tj.o.e wrote:alfa wrote:timelapse wrote:I find we should have visas for countries that make us get one.Respect is a 2 way street.

Brazil enforces reciprocity. Americans need a Visa to go.
Ideally Caricom should enforce it as a block so takes out the issue of some islands not doing it. This is just theory.
Good luck getting Caricom countries whose economies are almost solely dependent on Tourism to implement visas.j.o.e wrote:alfa wrote:timelapse wrote:I find we should have visas for countries that make us get one.Respect is a 2 way street.

Probably the citizenship by investment programmes those smaller islands sell have them on the list.hover11 wrote:TRUMP TARGETS 43 COUNTRIES WHOSE CITIZENS MAY FACE RESTRICTIONS FROM ENTERING THE US
The Trump administration is considering targeting the citizens of as many as 43 countries as part of a new ban on travel to the United States that would be broader than the restrictions imposed during President Trump’s first term, according to officials familiar with the matter.
A draft list of recommendations developed by diplomatic and security officials suggests a “red” list of 11 countries whose citizens would be flatly barred from entering the United States. They are Afghanistan, Bhutan, Cuba, Iran, Libya, North Korea, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Venezuela and Yemen, the officials said.

So why is Trinidad not here I would think doing business with a criminal leader would have placed us at a higher riskDizzy28 wrote:Probably the citizenship by investment programmes those smaller islands sell have them on the list.hover11 wrote:TRUMP TARGETS 43 COUNTRIES WHOSE CITIZENS MAY FACE RESTRICTIONS FROM ENTERING THE US

We had approval from the US to deal with that leader at a point in time now we don't.hover11 wrote:So why is Trinidad not here I would think doing business with a criminal leader would have placed us at a higher riskDizzy28 wrote:Probably the citizenship by investment programmes those smaller islands sell have them on the list.hover11 wrote:TRUMP TARGETS 43 COUNTRIES WHOSE CITIZENS MAY FACE RESTRICTIONS FROM ENTERING THE US
