Looking at a DEWALT 20V MAX XR Impact Driver, Brushless, 1/4", 3-Speed, Bare Tool Only (DCF845B)
I already have DeWalt 20V Max batteries

Surprisingly, these lil hex drive impacts can take out wheel nuts, but require a lot of impacting. I have done it many times with my DCF887pugboy wrote:for wheel nuts you may want a bigger sized oneDuane 3NE 2NR wrote:Anyone using an impact driver to do occasional auto-mechanic work?

General use for me is 1/2” and 9/16” nut sizes breaking and tightening on those big floor machine chassis and dock levelers, restaurant equipment and the occasional brakes and wheels on the car during maintenance. It gets wheel nuts off 75% of the time and tightening normal with of course hand check after, will break shock bolts normal.
Model # 2953-20
I also have the DCF887, but never used it for the wheel lugs (although many of the reviews on Amazon say it works for typical tightened ones).Duane 3NE 2NR wrote:for wheels I'll probably hand break and hand tighten them - just really to make the job easier/quicker.
This is very occasional use, so I really can't warrant buying a 1/2" drive hog ring or detent impact wrench.
An impact driver on the other hand can have lots more uses, around the house too.
But this is really what I wanted to know*KRONIK* wrote:Surprisingly, these lil hex drive impacts can take out wheel nuts, but require a lot of impacting. I have done it many times with my DCF887
Any others with experience and the model they use would be great!

2 batteries, charger, gun and a 17mm 19mm and 21mm socket with a bag.
best value for money,
removed wheels torqued to 100ftp easy, super light and maneuverable vs my mid torque Milwaukee,
couldnt remove a axle nut tho, milwaukee took a couple seconds hammering as well but removed it, for wheels alone u cant go wrong.

yeah Karcher is mostly hype. Got decent service from a Karcher 'follow-me' but Hadden can't seem to repair it properly
Bought a K5 and it randomly glitches

yup
Hadden repaired it, started leaking again
It's on my to-do list to scrap it and fix it myself, but it's just sitting there

Recently bought a K5, and I fell for the hype.
Assembling it felt like I needed to have a mechanical engineering degree to try and understand the instructions.
pugboy wrote:it is caused by the plastic outlet manifold splitting along a seam from the plastic molding process
another part which fits into it with an oring causes expansion by the oring which makes it split
the fix is to use a slightly smaller oring
my own the motor burned but i kept that part
of i find it i can give you

I think we got about 4 years on the follow-me
K5 had to have one of the nozzles replaced from new
Sometimes you will pull the trigger, hear the pump whirring and no pressure....guessing some valve or the other sticking.

Both will work well but they seem rather pricy for what they are, however you also have that big brand name reliability to consider. They will probably outlast several generic chinese. It's just a matter of form factor and that's up to you.
