I haven't flown POS-SJU but I have travelled with them in the US and if your expectations are realistic and you use them as a no frills get from point A to point B service then they fulfil that task at a great price compared to the traditional full service airlines. If you want all the extras, then you will have to pay or just go with a full service airline.

Looks like Avianca is entering the dance, with plans to start BOG-POS. Waiting on approval from the TTCAA. Would be good for South American and connectivity further afield. BOG has lots of international traffic, being second only to GRU in São Paulo.

https://www.aviacionline.com/unpreceden ... and-tobago

Colombia's Civil Aviation Authority (Aerocivil) has revealed that Avianca has applied to operate flights between Bogotá (BOG) and Port of Spain (POS), Trinidad and Tobago .

According to the document (in Spanish), the Colombian airline is seeking to operate up to seven weekly frequencies with 3rd and 4th freedom traffic rights , using Airbus A319, A320ceo, and A320neo aircraft.

Nice to see Tuners on CAL's case.

Last audited statements were for year ended 2015!!!!

The accounts were also "qualified" by the auditors.

Imbert was shielding CAL all the time. Remember earlier this year HE gave out CAL's 2024 results.

This is my problem men like Dizzy does come on here and talk about economics but when you don't have the facts how can you tell the full economic picture. This entity known as CAL just spending left right and centre with no disclosure to the general public about their true financial position all we know is we have subsidized flights where is the revenue earner are we spending more than we are earning as with everything the government touches. Will this be another BWIA?

Possibly but I’m less inclined to do it with healthcare because some situations would be emergencies and really we not in any position to bill anybody anyway.

I find it strange that the "Audited Financials" category on MOF's site is somehow... gone.

I'm not saying the documents gone, just the category, and probably the articles, so you can't find say the CAL report, unless you google it.

https://www.finance.gov.tt/category/aud ... tatements/

Image

... but all the reports were there as late as March 15th 2025, including CAL's 2015 audit report; see the internet archive:

https://web.archive.org/web/20250315133 ... tatements/

Image

.. although if you google it, you can still find the link to the report (for now anyway):

https://www.finance.gov.tt/wp-content/u ... S-2015.pdf

also, from the conversation above about CAL...

so for any interested ( perhaps some pleb in the new government who are finding it difficult to get reports maybe? ), here's how you would find them using google, as long as they remain on the site:

Search for:
site:https://www.finance.gov.tt/ filetype:pdf afs

or click here: https://www.google.com/search?q=site%3Ahttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.finance.gov.tt%2F+filetype%3Apdf+afs

Well, in 2015, the Auditors (KPMG) said CAL had sufficiently bad inventory problem that they not giving them a clean bill of health. From what i understand, that's very bad for any company, much less for an airline with huge, complex inventories.

source: CAL-AFS-2015.pdf at https://www.finance.gov.tt/wp-content/u ... S-2015.pdf (pulled 05/05/25).

Also this reader's claim that would produce audited statements by 2024:

Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar says Caribbean Airlines (CAL) is in the red and the previous board had been lying to the country about its economic situation.

So the article is about CAL in the red but more than half of it talking about Anil and cyberbullying.

Guardian on sheit yes

Talk about why the CAL CEO paid himself a bonus of $500,000 when not a cent of Govt loan was paid back.
