I was told that this fella Karim was not one of those who kidnapped Anesha..

He did what the police couldn't do but yet still he was charged because he refused to give up the identities of the kidnappers...
( which he should have done)

The police did not have a clue on the whereabouts of kidnapped victim Anesha Boodhoo.

Had it not been for Jason Brown aka Abdul Karim, they would not have had a single lead.

As a matter of fact, Karim was paid a certain amount of money by a close female relative of the victim.

Karim was approached by the female victim via a third party because he had the ability to find almost anyone reported missing.

After he was approached, the woman paid him thousands of dollars to assist in locating the kidnapped victim.

He did so and her abductors informed him that they wanted x amount of money in exchange for her safe release.

Karim made a deal with the abductors and the woman to take her to her home safely and get the money they requested.

After he did so and showed up at the victim's home, the police were notified and he was arrested.

Of course, they pleaded with Karim for information on the names of the persons responsible for the abduction, which included a certain shady businessman from the Aranguez community, with a promise he would not be charged.

Karim refused to cooperate with police officers who over the weekend, sought advice from the DPP to charge him with Knowingly Negotiating a Ransom.

Notice he was never charged with kidnapping or other offences directly related to the woman's abduction?

And that's because there was no evidence to suggest he was involved.

Take a careful look at the information highlighted below contained in an official police report:

" ... a multi-pronged approach was coordinated by the Commissioner of Police Mrs. Earla Christopher which included the Anti-kidnapping Unit, the NED Operations and CID, the Research and Analytical Unit, the C.S.M.U, the Homicide Bureau of Investigations, the offices of the ACP,s Criminal and Tactical Divisions, the Strategic Services Agency, the Legal Officer Asp Teesdale, SIU and other internal stakeholders within the TTPS.

This investigation was directly supervised by ACP Butler, Snr Supt Edwards, Snr Supt Ramjohn, ASP Ramdass, ASP Callender, Insp Phillip, Insp Ramsingh, W/Sgt Rivers, and Cpl Ramcharan."

Now, you saw all the so-called investigators and units involved in the case, yes?

Not one of them was smart enough to allow Karim to collect the ransom $$ and monitor him as he made his way to pay the kidnappers.

One must ask themselves, how come the police had no clue about their investigation given the volume of units and senior officers involved in this investigation?

Karim basically did their work for them (by conducting his investigations and locating the victim) all because he was paid upfront to do such by a female relative and the police were shocked, just like the public when he showed up at her home along with her in his quest to honour his side of the deal with the woman's kidnappers.

It's high time now the police either speak the truth or keep quiet instead of attempting to hoodwink the public with their crappy version of events which can land them a lucrative Hollywood spot.

Adding the names of all those seniors including the Commissioner of Police was just another stupid PR stunt by the TTPS who clearly didn't fool the population.

Karim, as colorful a character as he is, deserves recognition for locating the victim and taking her to her home safely.

it makes a lot of sense, why would a well known colourful character who "in" with the underworld risk himself as a kidnapper to go collect the money for himself?

I know somebody who dropped his phone after exercising in park and it was subsequently picked up and tracked to beetham
the police got an informant to make a contact and get it back for some small change
maybe they shoulda charge that guy also for aiding and abetting stolen goods

strange that the big boss would risk being caught by going to get the cash too
normally a kidnapping is done by several subcontractors

He's an old school who made a lot when it was easier to move product North..late 80s, 90s etc...his father was even a very senior police officer....

He used to bring in all the big foreign artiste too, Tower Promotions and owned Living Room Night Club in Arima..and was even with Jennny Sharma for some years...has houses all over the West, Goodwood Park etc, originally from Laventille..
