christmas season is celebrated by everyone.

yes, but is not christmas yet - why shift xmas three whole months- then by the time it actually come ppl fedup and switch to carnival-

do we shift divali 3 months? eid? any other celebration?

ah find they should limit soca to no more than 30% airplay from Dec. 25th till Dec. 31st. let xmas have its time instead of shifting it.

Long ago I used to can't wait till ash Wednesday to hear a lil Movado and Kartel on the radio. Soon as carnival done soca does lock off after hearing it non stop

Brenda Lee’s ‘Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree’ Tops Hot 100, 65 Years After Its Release

Lee’s “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree” shatters the record for the longest wait from a song’s release – 65 years – to it hitting No. 1 on the Hot 100. It surpasses the 25-year gap between the release of Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You” in 1994 and its rise to No. 1 in 2019....
Lee is 78 years young; her new Hot 100 coronation will add to her birthday celebration Dec. 11. She becomes the senior-most artist to top the chart.... she was 13 when she recorded “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree”

That and more.

From https://www.billboard.com/music/chart-beat/brenda-lee-rockin-around-the-christmas-tree-number-one-five-burning-questions-1235535968/

The Christmas classic, which rose to No. 2 each of the last four holiday seasons but was previously unable to unseat Mariah Carey’s beloved “All I Want for Christmas Is You,” gets all the way to the Hot 100’s apex on the chart dated Dec. 9....It comes after a major promotional push from both Lee and her UMG Nashville label, including a new music video, a new holiday EP, and a whole lot of new Lee TikToks, all timed to the song’s 65th birthday celebration this year.

Scary how this only reinforces how influential money/marketing pushes can be. Especially when there are far more superior classic Christmas songs. Glad for her though.

d tune might be big, and popular and all that.
meanwhile, most businesses ketchin dey rass.

I walk down lower Frederick Street a few days ago, it was NOT looking good compared to previous years. A few of the businesses owners I kno personally tell me they not hiring any seasonal staff unless things improve, and at this point it not making sense to hire temporary workers. That in and of itself is definitely not a good sign.
Also, I seeing a small increase in purse snatchers, pick-pockets & vehicle break-ins in and around POS.

Lewwe hope things change within the next 15-20 days

The pandemic changed people's perspective on things, lots of the traditional splash out that happened at Christmas didn't happen for 2 years, when 2022 came around people were still cagey about spending either because of uncertainty or a lack of economic recovery. By now people have realised that many of those things they did before weren't necessary, so expect to see a pared-down Christmas. So many stores have already begun their 50% off decorations sales and lots of 20-40% sales elsewhere

i think we also seeing some general cracks in the economy affecting christmas sales. plenty folks cyar get forex, so the investments in all the christmas wares gone cold. port moving slow like chit so everything backed up accumulating rent charges while the shelves empty. everybody watching next year one setta increased recurrent expenditure and legit donno what to do now. i gone to buy solo champagne in hilo and it have none on the shelves for three weeks now what to do

You see how the clown say public servants getting backpay before christmas and he would ensure it? The dunces think it's for them not realising it's actually so they could spend the money in he friends businesses and them.

Why he didn't say he gonna invest the backpay in anyone of the numerous investment funds that they like to boast about and periodically pay public servants dividends?

Ppl like living like fools in this country.

Oh no the economy bad. Maarsey only make 350M profit last year. Let's make sure their management have a good year and spend our money there on their 'sales'.

That 350M profit money come from the sky. The directors probably all suffering/complaining with their probably million dollar year end bonuses from which they'll have to pay tax on..preshah. Their life rough. Things tight. The economy bad.
