BYD and BMW? under the same roof?. Wonder whats the hold up with one of these dealerships bringing in Haval. Very popular in markets like South Africa and Jamaica.

Won't be too long before GWM (Haval) will be in T&T, just a matter of time.
Don't mind getting a GWM Tank 300, reviews on it are pretty decent.Capleton wrote:Shalom Vanamson wrote:Capleton wrote:Just read in the Newsday that La Fast Motors has added the BYD brand to their line-up. I hear yuh. But is how ppl running down the SAIC MG.
The gwm tank isn't bad, I watched a tear down video and it seems to be built pretty well, the only thing I heard multiple reviewers say is with Chinese cars the repairability isn't as good as other brands as some if the small parts are one time only use, like clips and brackets etc or plastic parts that kind of thing, so accident wise repairing one could be expensive.drchaos wrote:telfer wrote:Capleton wrote:zando wrote:Don't mind getting a GWM Tank 300, reviews on it are pretty decent.Capleton wrote:Shalom Vanamson wrote:Capleton wrote:Just read in the Newsday that La Fast Motors has added the BYD brand to their line-up. The 6 yr warranty is good is you change cars at the 5 yr point esp. if a company vehicle. For that time frame, you should be ok. For the general consumer, good luck otherwise.

Saw they giving you a 5 years free service. That 6 years warranty is one of the highest locally without paying extra. Prices for the Jolion start at 240k and the more popular H6 starts at 300k, 420 for the GT version (coupe SUV).

Dizzy28 wrote:Was in China for a few weeks recently. Haval and BYDs were some of the most common cars on the roads. There are some really nice looking models in the lineups of those companies.
However as I was made to understand once a Chinese earns enough money European cars are what they seek out particularly BMWs and Audis.
For 420 I'd just get a tank 300 instead, they apparently have it for 489 starter, lux and ultra modelsShalom Vanamson wrote:SLVR1 wrote:Capleton wrote:drchaos wrote:telfer wrote:Capleton wrote:zando wrote:Don't mind getting a GWM Tank 300, reviews on it are pretty decent.Capleton wrote:

There was a story about a guy who had an electric ioniq and the battery went bad and Hyundai wanted to charge him 50 thousand u.s. to change it, he ended up junking the car,scotty_buttons wrote:Fellasss
Been a while.. hope everyone keeping good.
I wasn’t sure if it was discussed before but did a search and found nothing.
Is the c200h (mild hybrid) exempt from tax as well? I know there was some confusion initially but I seeing some priced very competitively and when I do the maths, it not mathsing unless it benefiting from tax breaks.
Also, on the topic of MG, more so the electric ones; It appears Massy is currently in the process of building charging infrastructure throughout the islands. Currently Massy electric vehicle owners can charge their vehicles for free at the firm (or so I was told).
The incentive for these Chinese vehicles is there. And they aren’t bad looking either. Personally I’d never. lol.
Maybe in a ten years or so, IF they still around.

Dave wrote:We are talking alot about the batteries, but what about the motors?
They have a shelf life as well.
Or do we burn through a few batteries before requiring attention?
