essentially sums up the reasoning for adhering to standards...

Cameron has a good understanding of the technical requirements for such an undertaking..

The released air pressure heats up to about the temperature of the sun? *Gulp* D hell.

Just crumpled like a vacuumed can.

But, it wouldn't squeeze out. It would remain right there. When the pressures equalize, it msy leak out through the cracks.

Wouldn't there be some combustion as well? We are carbon based and very flammable excluding the water which we are almost 3/4 of.

Not all the oxygen from the air will leak out. But there may be lots of water vapor.

Yeah, prilly. But might be minimal snd so breif, that its inconsequential to the mere heat of compression

Could work it from first principles...knowing pressure at depth, volume of craft and temperature for likelihood of explosion...

I think you meant implosion...

Folks above were talking about combustion...not sure if combustion occurs with implosion...

edit* yea, in nuclear explosions they implode the radioactive source which results in an explosion

That is the overall end result, but the amout of pressure with with hydrocarbon and small amount of oxygen, with such a rapid increase in pressure will generate enough heat to have combustion... A smsll amount.

There’s something poetically beautiful about this. No matter how rich and powerful you may become ,you are mere seconds from being unidentifiable fish food.

Chance they Will find their clothes and wearable tech they had with them. And broken bones.

Wonder if they will release any audio and video recordings if they recover any from the wreck

Nah They didn’t fall into a black hole where all matter in the sub was crushed. Yeah The sub imploded but doesn’t mean the sub shrunk around the occupants. Probably a window or wall failed and allowed the sea to rush in and crush the air down and the people with it. But at least the memory chips would survive.

If the implosion created the heat they said it created and humans are essentially water with generous helpings of blobs of fat I would think the combustion of the bodies would incinerate both humans and their apparel.

Pressure in the sub would be 14 psi, and instantaneous jump to 6000 psi. That rapid pressurization would generate a lot of temperature.
Think about a tire pump going from 20 to 36 psi, how hot that gets.... Multiply thsr by 400.

The pistol shrimps, close their gundie so fass it cavitates the air and creates a smsll air pocket.
The collapse of thst air pocket is so rapid, it generates thousands of degrees in temp, and enough to guve off light.

Imagine thst bubble the size of the sub.

I don't think the windows blew or any other leaks, snd the hull remained in shape.
I want to think it collapsed in, because James Cameron said they lost the tracker (think). That was separately powered in its own case.
That means it ess destroyed as well. And it can't be easily destroyed

Combination of pressure, heat and depth from the surface. There’s nothing to retrieve …. Fish food …anything else in terms of personal items is lost in the abyss.

Presumed humans remains found in parts of the wreck, being sent to the lab for testing.

Apparently the human dive record is 330 METRES

idk how that guy did it. Intense abdominal pressure to combat for sure.
