Postby death365 » February 12th, 2023, 7:54 am

I'm looking for some local experiences with the Samsung Z fold 4, model number/colour, battery life, reception- specially with digicel and over all experience.

Yeah ah kno ah can just google reviews and 6 months update on it but I want local experiences.

EDIT... I SAID FLIP INSTEAD OF FOLD

Can't comment on the flip, but I use the fold 4 with digicel esim and it works fine. I personally don't see the appeal of the flip because it unfolds to a normal sized phone.

I test drove a flip and it was pretty decent. Big on nostalgia for those who owned flip phones back in the day but not sure how it will work for utility as a daily to get work done. I think the Fold is where you will get that utility.

I ordered the SM-F936B/DS because I wanted dual sim, but now that digicel has esim I didn't really need to do that. I'm using a work provided bmobile sim in one physical slot and my personal digi via esim. I'm currently in Arima indoors and the speed (bmobile) is lackluster (tested to Hivelocity in Miami) but is capable of much more in areas that support it. I've seen up to like 40 to 50 Mbps in POS.

Yes. The aspect ratio of the device will definitely give you black bands on most content (16:9). You'll still get a bigger display than a regular phone but there will be bands.

I have owned Z Flip 3 just over a year ( Nov 2021) the 4 is an incremental improvement ... this phone has its issues battery life could be better but with wireless charging it isnt a big deal.

Biggest issue is with the screen in particular the screen protector over the bending screen mine has started to rise up in the center by the infamous crease ... phone is still functional has acted up a couple times in that area ... I have to replace the protector they are some products out there but i braksing I wont lie.

The display is crazy good and bright ... you can expand the screen to get rid of the form factor issues watching a video ... yes u lose the edges but nothing much shows there.

Durability I honestly buy spigen cases for all my phones ... and no lie I have dropped this phone numerous times ... slipped out my hands went across the room trying to pick it up ... this is why I use cases on my phones.

I would recommend any Z Flip to anyone that likes the form factor. It does work real nice in your pocket I have a work phone (regular brick) as well so two phones one pocket works well. Note the case is very grippy.

Yes, it is. The downsides I can see are the aspect ratio not being great for watching content and you miss out on the epic zoom of the s series. Both of which I'm willing to live with in exchange for the epic display.

i have the motorola razr flip5g 2020 2 years now choose it over the samsung because of the big outer display plus it look more cool , so far the only issue is the main screen has slight bubble barely noticable i'm gussing that's why samsung left a crease on the center now i'm looking at the new motorola 2022 review looking good compare to the samsung z4.
