Can anyone tell me, if all primer for concrete walls are equal ?
I used penta to prime the inside and i ended up getting kaleidoscope primer to do the outside walls.

any insight would be appreciated

If you had a shady workman who did your plastering.. it wont make much of a difference. I used it Sherwin Williams internally.. exterior i used Berger... Stands up better to our climate..
I was reliably informed...

How is this holding up?

Since sabga acquired berger, berger paints is pure failure. Saw some people switch over to kaleidoscope and it's actually exceptional!

As a Pro Painter and owner of a painting company for the last 17 years. I would like to share the following:

As far as brands go the local big three are as good as any other Berger, Sissons and Penta

For Oil Berger 404 or Super Gloss, most cost and durable finish Chinese Lacquer

Those who wish to go to foreign paints nothing is a good a Behr. Sherwin Williams offer many coating solutions which are affordable and quite good . Benjamin Moore is also good. Does it merit a premium price ......

Most paints would do the job the key thing is surface preparation, humidity and time allowed between applications and of course the actual application.

Have fun be clean and neat

Folks,
till 2012 tnt market had 3 strong brands on local/regional paint - Berger, Sissions and Penta

in 2012 Penta (ANSAMCAL) bought Sissions,
2018-2019 Berger bought by ANSA .

used berger on my home 2012 in and out and it lasted 8 years without touch up or repainting exterior.

currently all the base used for the 3 brands are the same WRT to the exterior and interior paints.

the tints are then added to get the color one requests.

In short they are the same.
just like bleach. in tnt
sunlight and Dee and Clorox all the same ... as bleach is a byproduct of chlorine manufacturing.

all bleach have a 3 month shelf life

Two quick questions:

Is SW Loxon XP worth the $3000/5 gal? Can alternatives be used for external walls?

Is waterproof sealing necessary for an external wall?

In-laws keep telling me abt pratt & lambert, but I prefer I prefer SW or benjamin moore. Plus the service at SW stores is top notch.

My 2¢ from using these last week,
Do not attempt to thin these paints down.
If you using a roller, make sure the present coat has thoroughly dried before applying another coat.
If you are attempting to cover existing paint, prime with light grey. The white bleeds through.

be careful if those high quality imported paints are latex based, you may get water bubbling soon after if wall is porous or previous paint is
