Rovin wrote:what might be far easier & cost effective is to build ur concrete structure normal & run some boards slats across d walls then secure some outer round cutoff slabs from logs , of course using hardwood that termite dont eat , any sawmill cud link up dat for u ... had a relative that did this to his bar here in chaguanas about 20yrs ago aptly named D Cabin

It cheaper to build it out of concrete than use that...

From my experience doing such, I have a simple piece of advice.
Build concrete. Clad with wood if you so desire. Take my word for it.
Building with concrete and facet wood (or alternative materials) is the most feasible financial option. Though the benefits and aesthetics of natural wood will be missed. If its for modern living or residential setting, do the concrete. If it was , say on an acreage, log wood cabin would be the sweetest option.slickrick777 wrote:well yea build structure then decor after, so it lookimg more feasable to go concrete structure then do outer wall decor, even was thinking a chimney to the side as well, but on the front wanted a porch along the entire front with few tables to sit and maybe dine etc, and well that porch needs to have a rustic cabin like look main thing!
Stamping on plaster with a plank can give you a wood effect.Use a piece of wood with big veins Also, there are wood plank tiles in ceramic.slickrick777 wrote:lol, well that camp aint look bad but I want a design to look more like a cabin/house but not as premium, so I thinking concrete and roof, a chimney will definately make the effect and the fron porch, need to look around at materials available that may or can be used to give the effect of wood etc!
