Congratulations on your new set up!

You should ground to earth both the mast and the cable according to the latest code.

A coax earthing block is used and the antenna cable is screwed onto one side with the TV cable screwed onto the other.

You may not get a lightning strike but you can certainly experience static buildup from the wind. The static charges can be a few thousand volts.
