A truck driver employed with Wafiq's Transport is now warded at the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex in Mount Hope after a crash on Sunday morning in Chase Village.
According to a report, at about 6.15 am the truck was in motion when close to the triangle a blue Suzuki SUV crashed head on into the truck.
The truck's driver only identified as Wendell sustained serious injuries to both his legs.
The driver's condition of the SUV was not known, however, police officers responding on the scene said a breathalyzer test was expected to be conducted on the driver, who was driving a company vehicle belonging to Amka Woodworking Company in Cunupia.
An official at Wafiq's Transport said Wendell reported to the yard at Orange Field Road in Carapichaima where he "washed and cleaned his truck in preparations for today's work etc. He is very enthusiastic about his job and now he is damaged but thank God for his life."
Investigations are continuing.

distracted driving, maybe.
the last time I witnessed this, the person (not calling the sex/gender) said that they thought they were mashing brakes, but planted their foot on the accelerator instead.

And it happens a lot with the two foot drivers on both pedals at the same time because either they never learned the correct technique of driving with only 1 foot from their driving instructor, or they sincerely believe that they're racing drivers who can double declutch like rally.
