also retail businesses should have gotten smart and by now implemented online shopping- in this scenario, in any lockdown Govt could have allowed, for instance a phase 1 or 2 reopening where u could have staff come out to process orders and make deliveries, while keeping the doors closed to customers, instead of waiting until a much later phase 3 or 4. Just like how restaurants opened back in phase 1 but no in house dining- they still get to make money while keeping the number of ppl inside small.

Sacha cosmetics advertising a online only sale- they don't want to encourage a crowd.

I dont disagree with when a small fraction of the country has visa or MasterCards (one of the lowest in the world I'm sure) then how online ordering gonna work? I see rel ppl taking bank transfers but that takes 2 to 5 days sometimes

Is high time ppl move into the 21st century and start using cashless options- and even without that they could have the delivery person walk with a portable linx machine but they should at least have a Linx card. I sure other countries doing that.

GG just have to focus on crime.

illegal Venes who just looking to make an honest dollar should be left alone.

It’s the only way that we can learn to be responsible and take matters like this seriously.

What other responsibilities you want that YOU feel that people are not adopting?

You live in Trinidad?

When last you came out your house?

How involved and observant are you with the general mentality of the population towards Covid 19?

Have you followed every single press conference?

You seeing what going on around the country or you clueless?

I really dont know what you mean by what “other” responsibilities “i feel” people are not adopting.

People are not adopting any responsibility to begin with in the first place.

We have NO cases. If we do then the government is lying to us. Everyone is sanitizing and wearing the masks. There’s a small percentage who is not following to the letter. What else you want the citizens to do. Stop the fear mongering.

I ask again, do you live in Trinidad?

You have internet or a TV self? U watching the press conference atm?

Your attitude/typical mentality is that we have “NO cases” so no need for “fear mongering”. Right?.....soldier if we DO have cases, allyuh ass dark.

And Everyone is sanitizing and wearing masks??

Only a small percentage you say is not complying?

If the percentage is SO small then why did the Govt just make decision to further restrict Bars because of the irresponsibility of Trinis.

But yeh man we have NO cases so why stress the public yeh?

One person not wearing a mask or sanitizing can do no harm....right?

You have absolutely no idea what is going on in this pandemic and how this virus spreads.

These new norm measures are an inconvenience to allyuh Trinis and when the rules are enforced, allyuh VEX.

Govt cuts bar-closing time to 8 pm

The Government has taken a decision to close bars at 8 pm nightly, following breaches in social distancing and other COVID-19 guidelines last week.

The announcement was made by National Security Minister, Stuart Young at a news conference this morning.

Bars will continue to open at 8 am.

The Minister called on bar operators to make last calls at a proper time before 8 pm so that they could close at 8 pm.

He said police will enforce the law of people gathering outside of bars in large numbers.

He said that any further breaches will result in tougher measures.

Yesterday, the Bar Owners Association, Trinidad Hotel, Restaurants and Tourism Association and Trinidad and Tobago Beverages and Alcohol Association said they will prohibit the sale of alcohol to bars that breach the regulations.

There are over 5,000 bars in T&T contributing employment to as many as 20,000 people directly and 100,000 indirectly.

Key Points From The Ministry Of Health’s Virtual Media Conference on COVID-19 – Monday June 29th 2020:

- National Security Minister Stuart Young announced that the Public Health Regulations will be amended today as it relates to the opening of bars. Under the new regulation, bars will open from 8AM to 8PM. Bar operators are asked to use the ‘last call’ system by 7:30PM. Anyone found inside a bar after 8PM from Monday June 29th 2020 will be charged.

- Congregation at bars must be limited to 25 people INSIDE the establishment. Congregation OUTSIDE the establishment, in public spaces, must be limited to 25 people. Police are authorised to close bars if operators/patrons do not maintain physical distancing at these establishments, or follow other Public Health Guidelines.

- National Security Minister Stuart Young said if there is no reversal in the type of behaviour at bars and people refuse to follow the COVID-19 guidelines, Government will not hesitate to roll back the regulations even further.

- National Security Minister Stuart Young reminded that all public parties and fetes are PROHIBITED. He noted that an establishment at One Woodbrook Place was open on Friday night in breach of the regulations. Nightclub owners are warned that they will be subject to fines/imprisonment for breaching the Public Health Regulations.

- Restaurant operators with bar licenses are also warned to follow the Public Health Guidelines. Restaurants are allowed to remain open until 10PM.

- Health Minister Terrence Deyalsingh said officials are carefully observing what is taking place since the reopening of bars and will continue to monitor this industry. He said they cannot allow one industry to set back the country, especially in light of the strides made to protect citizens from COVID-19. He said: "I am personally disappointed with this one part of the opening which has the potential to erase every single gain that we have made."

They will still have bars with more than 25 persons

So bussing the $50k fine surely will make them wake up and enforce.

Twelve Venezuelans were arrested as they came ashore at Palo Seco Beach on Saturday.

Officers of the Santa Flora Police Station received information that a boat with Venezuelans nationals came ashore illegally.

The officers proceeded along the beach front and saw 2 vehicles parked on the shore with the 12 Venezuelans packing their luggage into them.

The vehicles were stopped and the Venezuelans and drivers of both vehicles were detained, then transferred to the Siparia Health facility for Covid-19 screening.

Afterwards, they were transferred to Staubles Bay, Chaguaramas, for self- quarantine
.

The two drivers are Trinidadians.

Those illegal venes will be this country demise . Got nothing against the legal ones but its only a matter of time before a case skips thru the cracks and goes wide spread. I'll still take my precautions while outside.

Fool the layman into believing their government cares about them more than the business (bar) owners.

Bars not getting supplies ?

Really now ..

So who will control this monopoly ?

And where are the Church on this alcohol debate - Is this not affecting the youths ?

https://guardian.co.tt/news/no-alcohol- ... dc984fc474

This monopoly using that tactic to prevent competition from getting into bars for years now. Glad to see they're using it for the greater good at least..

It will create a BLACK MARKET for alcohol in a very short period of time .

Since ALL social drinkers in TT are alcoholics by definition .
