Either way, expect 40-50 more murders his month which puts us at 530. Our 2nd highest official toll.

What do high murder rates tell us? It says almost nothing about the policing effort nor is it an indicator of 'crime' levels though it does to an extent in Trinidad.

It tells us that there's no one single dominant drug gang or trafficker, instead thers seems to be a multitude of competing traffickers, and local turf wars. This leads to tonnes of revenge attacks, murders of disputes, broken agreements and just lack of organization and sophistication in our local drug mafias. Like every other aspect, even our dealers and traffickers are third world in mentality.

I find it rel hard to believe in a country with just over a million people, and with 5000 murders over the last 10-15 years, I only know one guy personally who got killed. Seems like I hangout in a good crowd yes.

I know of many friends of a friend, or people I saw once somewhere. But as far as close friends or family, just one. Pretty sure I'm the exception.
