Dealing with one's own homophobia is a process. You have to confront your feelings and deal with them over time. Yuh know how long it took me to stop cringing when I saw same-sex displays of affection? It's because I was socialized a certain way for years. When I realized that I disagreed with homophobia, I had to rid myself of that socialization over time. And sometimes I will still slip up and call somebody a bullerman.

I hate homosexual behaviors. I don't think I have any homosexual friends well at least any that I know of, but I have many associates, mostly clients who may have long-term partnerships with me, that are homosexual and they know I'm not in agreement with their lifestyle, but at the end of the day we interact quite normal. I think that still makes me homophobic. I also try to talk them out of it. See, Humes, you've been brainwashed by western culture. The first feeling you had towards homosexuality, where you mentioned the upset you had towards it, was brought about by nature. To become a homosexual, somewhere along the lines in life there was a problem. Homosexuality is not normal because by nature we are heterosexual. Its a problem in one's life that need to be fixed. And everyone have problems they struggle with. So I while I don't support homosexual behaviours, if you're homo you have a problem and I feel sorry for you. This is the kinda erroneous armchair psychology that clouds the entire debate.

It's not normal for a human being to be born with a genius IQ. But it's natural. It happens. It's not normal for someone to be born with Down Syndrome. But it's natural. It happens. It takes the tiniest variation in some gene or some cell somewhere for a person to have a totally different mindset from everyone else. One of those variations is homosexuality. Not the norm, not the usual, but very natural.

Many homosexuals were exposed to some sort of trauma when they were growing up, but many weren't. Same goes for heterosexuals.

Your statement about being brainwashed by Western culture...it doesn't make any sense. Western culture is still predominantly homophobic. Many Eastern cultures are actually a lot more tolerant. I don't think you understand what you're talking about.

If homosexuality is a "problem", how come so many many gays living life just cool and happy? How come the main cause of stress in most of their lives is people they not harming telling them they have a problem?
