sorry to hear what going on pal, u need to try everyting possible before we establish is the coolant seals gawn bad.The coolant is retained in the overflow because you have a small leak somewhere in the cooling system. This small leak is keeping the coolant from completely returning to the radiator from the overflow. It can be caused by a bad cap. It might be caused by a pinhole leak in the tube from the rad neck to the overflow. It might be happening at an imperfectly sealed gasket.
So i would start with looking for leaks, the proper way is to do a system pressure test that would identify any leaks. If u did source a leak and the problem persist, try changing the pressure cap, if both doesnt work u could do a ""champagne test"", full the system with coolant and remove the filler neck pressure cap and start the car when its cold, u are looking for a steady stream of bubbles, sumting like a fizz, this is nut conclusive but it shows that exhaust gases abd getting into the system. white smoke coming from the exhaust is a good sign but that happens when the seals are truly gawn......dont jump to conclusions YET.
a rebuild wud cost u like 15k cause u hv to do a overhaul and its advisable u change all other seals, parts like 10k, labour 5k......
contact me if u need more info...707-0122...good luck fellow rotor head, welcome to the club! lol
