Flow Cable Box

Postby LovinDiva » May 1st, 2014, 2:42 pm

I have a question. I'm moving residence, now I have my flow cable box and my new residence is wired for flow/cable. I disconnected the cable box but is pressue for them to come by my new residence to hook me up. I know before my ex neighbour was also wired for cable but they didn't have a box & i use to loan them my cable box and they use to get cable.

I was wondering, if I'm already wired for cable in my new home, do I need to get a technician to come by me or can i just ask them to reconnect the box and the cable would come through?

Make sure the line is hooked up to the digital feed on the post analog still runs in certain areas .

I live Moka area and my parents St. Clair side ,all I did is let a tech. run a line to inside called flow for a second box ,then gave my parents hook up ,running 3 years now .
so once the digital box is connected you should get service .

I don't understand. So I will still need a technician then?

I did the same thing 2 months ago... But instead my new home wasnt wired so i had to call them in to do a fresh installation... They came but it took them like a week after calling because they were booked.... You should call 223-FLOW and request a new installation... But if you said your new house is wired then it suppose to work after connecting... But before you actually get the viewing you need to call them so they can activate your box on the new connection...

They have already disconnected the box, do I just go into them and ask them to reconnect it. It's only been a few hours now.

No... You just give them a call on the phone and they will do it from there... But you must be an existing customer so they will add the service to your account... If you're not an existing customer you'll have to go to their office and sign up... They will guide you according...

You shouldn't move the box. That is against their terms of usage agreement.

Call them and go through the normal process.

But once the new place is wired, you can use the old box in the interim. but let them know that you changing address.
They may just update your information and let you carry on.
Or they may insist they have to come and check the connection in the new place, in that case you will have to pay a fee.

Or just wait until they bring back their 'free installation' promotion and then call them.

I don't know if this is what you mean.

When they do their random checks Flow knows if you are using a box in another area than where it was originally located. Took one from by my gf because of the packages she had and was using it at home. After a few weeks Flow disconnected the service. When I called they told me that it was flagged because the box was registered to her address but being used elsewhere. Long story short, they have to be informed once you move.

Op once you call and let them know about the move and you have a line at the new location all they will do is change the service address on the records etc. No need f9r a tech, but make sure you call them .
