Creation vs Evolution debate tonight on NBC

Postby Duane 3NE 2NR » February 4th, 2014, 2:31 pm

I'm breaking this out of the 580 page Religion Discussion thread and I will merge it back after
Debate topic: "Is creation a viable model of origins in today's modern scientific era?"

NBC News - More than a million viewers are expected to tune in online Tuesday night for what may be the most-watched debate over evolution since the Tennessee "Monkey Trial" of 1925.

Other showdowns between evolution and creationism may have had more impact — for example, the federal court case that went against intelligent-design advocates in 2005. But for pure spectacle, complete with slide presentations, it's hard to beat the face-off here at the Creation Museum between Bill Nye the Science Guy and creationist Ken Ham.

You can watch it live here

Hopefully it ends up being nothing like this.

Richard Dawkins interviews Wendy Wright.

Maybe that is why we are so retarded. Because we have 3 levels of brains - the reptilian brain, the mammalian brain and the primate brain. So says evolution!

Is that too much brain for us to use so diminishing returns set in??

Audience looks reneck-ish though. Hope Bill has a few supporters in the crowd.

The support isn't to the validity of his points, but just so the debate doesn't come off as biased. With one side seeming to get more applause/acceptance. Kinda disagree with the venue for that reason.

we cant see it....evolution takes a very long time...one can not simply witness evolution. no human today will ever be able to 'witness' evolution.

oh snap!!! (indirectly) Bill just tell d man he spend whole night explaining things about d past but cant prove anything.

Ok so as far as documentation goes we have no physical proof of evolution from the point we evolved to now so...
Edit:
And i believe in creation yo iif any evolution occurred its after creation!

there is physical proof....for example, its clearly seen in fossils .

Smithsonian museum has 'proof' on display for people to see in real life as well.

Bill: "That's how we do it on the outside."

Translation: That's how sane and reasonable people do things.

Cant see the show because i have flow but say what would of been great to see this
And as I said before evolution occurred after creation if anything...And i wont call it evolution but adaptation! Example of that being fishes no longer being affected to virus without the use of chemicals

It's streaming.
So the question is "Is creation a viable model of origins in today's modern scientific era?"

Ham was asked if he was confronted with infallable evidence that there is no God, what he'd do. He insisted that there is no method and there will never be one that can do that.
Not being open for change is not scientific, so no, creation can't join the rest, simple as that.
He's also dodging a lot of questions. Reminds me of someone.
