want to swap out 3zz-fe: which one better 4AGE or 3SGTE???

Hey peeps,

I am thinking about possibly swapping out my 3zz-fe in my altis for either a 4AGE or a 3SGTE....could y'all suggest which one would be better (along with reasons) and the prices of each??....Thanks!.......

id say like 12k , thats pretty rough.
the 1jz is a rear wheel drive engine, where as the altis is front wheel drive.
the 3s and the 4age are the best option for your car

did the two conversions and the 3sgte was more expensive ,because u will still need a 2wd tranny to be hooked up ,cost off engine 7000,tranny 3000 ,install and wiring 6000 ,exhaust 2.5 in 3500.
The 20v b/t cost 7000,install and wire 5000,exhaust 2.5 in 2200.
2zz ge nice but would you like to spend 15000 on engine 5000 on install and wiring then there is the exhaust 22-2600.

User Forester 5000 on the forums did a 3s-gte swap in his NZE. I'm sure it may be similar to your application

Maybe you can pm him and ask about what he did and the problems he encountered.

if u looking at power go 3sgte one time...it has more hp out of the box and more can be extracted easily.

doin one in maybe 6 weeks time but on a celica.

surely it may cost more but u would thank me later.

Wont the 1ZR or 2ZR be good options? these engines did come in some Altis and they have better designed VVTi systems.

the b/t conversion works very well ,1st run went to toco and it worked flawess.
some people think the 3s is this flawess power plant.Yes the engine works but ask how many of them get parts to accomplish power over 300 hp.getting someone to wire the dam think is a tdious task .i dont have any problem wiring them .Have rewired many of them all ready because people seem to think it is as easy to wire as the nissan engines.we have been doing work on the 4age engines both 20-16vs since they came to this country.we do every thing from 2e to 2j .Did 3s conversions on diffrent toyota vechiles,all turned out very good,even got recommended by some .our experince with toyotas go way back to when the assembley plant was operational.

Power would be there but I'm looking at reliability. Not able with crossbreed for daily nah
