Tablet users

Postby netsket » August 18th, 2012, 9:56 pm

other than an iPad. What is the next best brand or type of tablet to buy?

i never had or used an iPad or tablet before and want to know if I could webcam chat with it using software like messenger or skype

the reason is I trying to make a baby video monitor. not getting them down here and considering using a laptop connected to a tablet to achieve this.

what i thinking is when the baby get big at least I will still have a tablet unlike a useless baby monitor

other options would also be appreciated.

Well if you want a baby monitoring solution that does video, I have a Samsung smartcam baby monitor, it works with wifi and connects with your laptop/phone/tablet etc so you can have the cam watching the baby and you could be in another room watching the video feed. I got it as a gift tho so I dunno where it is sold locally.

wrt tablets, I'd say the next best tablet is a Galaxy Tab 2 and yes you can skype on them.

Just yesterday I was researching for the best tablet to buy. The best tablet in the world (according to my opinion) is the Asus Transformer Infinity TF700T. Beats anything else on the market. I going to buy one in within the next month when I get the money. You can get cheaper options in the Asus Transformer line and they still very good. The Samsumg Galaxy line of tablets (including the recently launched Note 2) real disappointing and I expected better from them since they currently have the best phone in the world.

Check the pricesmart online site for video baby monitor. Was like 1500 if I remember correctly.

why you say the samsung note 10.1 is dissapointing? specs seems good to be besides the screen resolution when compared to the asus infinity.

I have yet to decide which one im gonna get.

I'm thinking more Cafenol, as its a baby.

But seriously, besides the lack of a screen that's on par with the ipad, that Note 10.1 has it all.

I use a 700$ camera that has pant, tilt functions and records as well as takes pictures. I can view it home anywhere and u just plug an Ethernet cable on it to your router or get the wireless one for 850$. Foward the IP and password it and you view it anywhere you want if you leaving a babysitter home with the baby. I use mines to view thru an android phone so when in the kitchen i will know when baby is waking.

Simple question.....Are you looking for attention? As far as i see it, this thread was about something else, not asking if "ppl doz still tork so?"

Just get a baby monitor.

Don't use it as an excuse to get a tablet :)
Anyhow you take it you'll need hardware + tablet.

And if you insist on a tablet, wait a little while longer to see how Microsoft Surface and the rumoured iPad "mini" will do compared to the iPad and Nexus 7

something cheap with a camera will work.
there are many that come with the android operating system. no need for superfast processors if all you want to do is skype..

you can find a lot of them on amazon for around $100 USD or less
